Title: call or pass ?
Post by: stewart on March 11, 2007, 01:49:59 PM
just after rebuys,  AVG chips 7,100,  i have 9,800  2 players have 1,700  sb 11,300  bb 8,900

Blinds 200-400

im utg+1 and look down at AK,  and raise to 1400 total,

both ss call and leave them self with 300 chips, the sb also calls, bb passes,

flop K66 sb checks i bet 2,100,  both ss pass and sb re-raises to 5,100

what do you do ?

i agree , cant really see a hand he calls pre flop with a 6 in it  Ac  6c ??

All in , he may have  Kd  Qs , medium pair , you just have to pay him off if he has a monster  Ac  Ahrt ,  Kc  Kh or  6s  6h.

at this stage of the tourney your looking to gather chips and with the utg raise with AK what kind of flop are you looking for ? 10 J Q ??

how did it pan out , ive a feeling you get outdrawn for some reason

Why can you not see the SB having a 6??

When it comes to him, he is starring at a massive pot, with 200 already invested.

This is a pass for me.

What exactly are you ahead of? Except for a pure bluff

imo , i cant see him calling with a hand like  6h 7h ,  5s 6s , etc , although there isnt much info on his style.

and if he has got lucky on that flop then i think our hero is unlucky , flop 2 pair , relatively nice flop for AK in my opinion

what kind of flop are you looking for ?

I take your point. And yes, without the paired board it is a lovely flop.

Different strokes for different folks ;)

The short stacks played the hand well......

i passed and he showed 56,   and your right james no one could belive the shortstacks,

was just wondering if the rest of you would do the same or move-in ?,     the player btw is tight as anyone before he has a few then hes loose as a goose,  this was after i think his 3rd pint lol,    i firgured i had enough chips to do something in the blinds or on the dolly, i had a pretty good table imagine,  but i ran 10's into AJ on the dolly,  the last hand i expected him to have was A6 was a bit taken aback when someone said that its very unlikely a player would call with a6 even if it was suited after that sort of action, unless he is a complete moron lol

He's got the hand locked up and hasnt done himself justice by moving ai.

ur correct there alex if he flat calls me and checks i bet again on the turn, he gets full value for his hand,  because then i simply dont pass,
