Title: This cant be true?????????? Post by: JoeStrummer on September 29, 2005, 11:02:35 PM Ok, just had a call from a friend who was playing on Full tilt poker. now to cut a long conversation short a royal flush (diamonds) appeared on the board, ok, my mate goes all in thinking its a split pot, the remaining player goes all in as well, showdown, my friend AK spades other guy 89 of diamonds. The caller with 89 of diamonds wins the pot!! how can this be??? I have never heard of anything like this before. I have told him to email them asking for an explaination. He also did a screen save as well so i have seen the showdown. Is it me? have I missed something glaringly obvious??

Defintiely Texas and not Omaha? Sounds like a software error. Title: Re: This cant be true?????????? Post by: JoeStrummer on September 29, 2005, 11:07:04 PM yes snoopy, is it possible to post it?
Title: Re: This cant be true?????????? Post by: rivered on September 29, 2005, 11:07:15 PM nah it's in the rule books.... 7 card royal flush beats a 5 card royal flush >:?
Title: Re: This cant be true?????????? Post by: rivered on September 29, 2005, 11:08:10 PM how does the hand history explain his win - what does it say you had vs what he had... that'll be the best bet i reckon
Title: Re: This cant be true?????????? Post by: JoeStrummer on September 29, 2005, 11:13:35 PM I have the screen shot and it just says the guy showed 89 of diamonds and wins £1042 with a royal flush. Unreal.

JS Hmm from your screenshot your friend had K6o and not AK of spades, the other guy has 89o and not 89 of diamonds and it also shows the pot was split confirmed by the chat box saying "pipedown (big blind) showed [6d Ks] and won (1,065) with a Royal Flush". So I really don't see what you're on about? They didn't have the hands you stated and they did split it anyway... ?! Unless I've missed something? Title: Re: This cant be true?????????? Post by: Nem on September 30, 2005, 08:41:00 PM He just wanted to show everyone his bad beat without donating £5 to Poker4charity!
Title: Re: This cant be true?????????? Post by: snoopy1239 on September 30, 2005, 08:43:14 PM He just wanted to show everyone his bad beat without donating £5 to Poker4charity! Is that a rule now? Title: Re: This cant be true?????????? Post by: Nem on September 30, 2005, 09:05:38 PM I reckon that every person who tells a Bad beat story on this forum should have to donate 50p to Poker4Charity.
Maybe Ironside (where has he gone?) can add a paypal donation link to the forum and add another catergory "Bad beat stories" exclusively for bad beats. ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) Title: Re: This cant be true?????????? Post by: snoopy1239 on September 30, 2005, 09:08:08 PM I really like that idea. Considering this started out as a bad-beat free forum, I ain't half read a lot of bad beat stories recently.
I think many would quite happily cough up in order to tell us about their outdraw. :D Title: Re: This cant be true?????????? Post by: chrisbruce on September 30, 2005, 09:20:46 PM I will happily pay to share my bad beats with you all. when can I start!! I have a file saving them.
I especially like the 'how could he / she call with that' one,s Title: Re: This cant be true?????????? Post by: Royal Flush on September 30, 2005, 09:47:30 PM i find it more liley that your m8 made a missread (tikay style) rather than UB. ahem Title: Re: This cant be true?????????? Post by: doubleup on September 30, 2005, 11:58:15 PM errrr there appears to be 3 players in the pot, but only 2 of them are showing as winners. Isn't this the point being made?
Title: Re: This cant be true?????????? Post by: JoeStrummer on October 01, 2005, 03:24:40 AM Double up, that is the point im trying to make, why no three way split?
Coca. without wanting to sound funny, please read the thread in full before quoting previously corrected comments. JS Title: Re: This cant be true?????????? Post by: Karabiner on October 01, 2005, 09:24:16 AM He just wanted to show everyone his bad beat without donating £5 to Poker4charity! Now that is a first class idea. This should definitely be made a rule of this forum. :)up Title: Re: This cant be true?????????? Post by: Nem on October 01, 2005, 10:08:12 AM £5 i feel is a bit steep, however 50p would be alot better
What does everybody else think? Title: Re: This cant be true?????????? Post by: Robert HM on October 01, 2005, 10:19:03 AM I am not sure it is a good idea. Ok there will be times when it will be a "pure bad beat can I cry on your shoulder" type post, if it is the subject line should include a hint along the lines of "I am a whinger and this just happened" ;)
Sometimes we learn when hand histories are posted as they can be discussed and the play considered, quite good for the karma to chuck in some constructive criticism as well. Also if we had a fine system people will feel restricted and, in any event, who's going to police the payment. How about a league? Posted bad beat without whinge warning - 2 points Posting bad beat with warning - 1 point Post obvious bad beat but denies it is such - 3 points All for a bit of a fun and we can have a winger of the month declaration, not a prize ;D Title: Re: This cant be true?????????? With my idea, it's only 50p and anyone can donate, they dont have to but i feel a lot of people would as it is for a very good cause. Title: Re: This cant be true?????????? Post by: Ironside on October 01, 2005, 06:12:42 PM the cost of sending 50p to P4C via paypal or credit card would me the only people getting money out of this would be paypal
