Title: Cheltenham Festival Day Two (Wednesday) Tips Post by: Karabiner on March 13, 2007, 08:38:56 PM No selections for me on Day Two, although that is only my view at the moment.......
Only had one proper bet on Day One (Fair Along, who I feel was disturbed by the two false starts as a front-runner ) Although I did have a saver in the CH (Iktitaf@20/1) without having a main bet as thankfully DC did not drift as expected doing me a substantial favour, however through my rose-tinted spectacles I felt that Iktitaf was not without a real chance of winning when falling three out. Title: Re: Cheltenham Festival Day Two (Wednesday) Tips Post by: Horneris on March 13, 2007, 09:06:21 PM I only have 3 Antepost bets for tomorrow.
2 of them are in the Coral Cup. Oscatello EW @20/1 (now 12/1) Copsdale Lad WIN @ 14/1 (now 12/1) and one in the Kim Muir: Direct Flight EW @14/1 (now 9/1) I duno if these will win, i just knew their prices would drop so i would be able to lay them a bit. Im a big fan of Direct Flight though, and my Dad claims Oscatello wont be far away. Ill study all the races properly late tonight/early tomorrow morn tho. Title: Re: Cheltenham Festival Day Two (Wednesday) Tips Post by: crip17 on March 14, 2007, 01:33:33 AM Had a great first day with MY WAY DE SOLZEN. Had it done ante post, and ended up with about £1180. - what a horse. Get on for the gold cup next year.
Have a big ante post bet on My Turn Now in the first today and the drying ground will do him no harm. 2nd last time out it was closing on silverburn at sandown when it fell and that was on heavy. Trainer says it runs best on good ground and gd-soft. Definately EW claims Title: Re: Cheltenham Festival Day Two (Wednesday) Tips Post by: The Camel on March 14, 2007, 01:36:30 AM I've changed my mind about laying Aran Concerto. I just can't find a viable alternative. I certainly won't be backing it at around 2/1.
I'm still laying Denman and Well Chief. Title: Re: Cheltenham Festival Day Two (Wednesday) Tips Post by: Graham C on March 14, 2007, 08:56:09 AM Today I'm going for places only after my dismal return yesterday
2.00 Silverburn - Aran to short and Silverburn is ok pricewise for me. 2.35 Turko - Can't see past Denman here but Turko is in with a shout of a place 3.15 Ashley Brook - A horse that I always follow as it shares the same name as my wifes late uncle. 4.00 Oscatello - Ta Horneris, good odds for a place here 4.40 Direct Flight - Follow this jockey sometimes as we have the same silly surname. I wonder if we are related! Should I get anything back on these, I'm on Mad Fish for a place in the last, purely for it's name :) Good luck everyone Title: Re: Cheltenham Festival Day Two (Wednesday) Tips Post by: smithy69 on March 14, 2007, 09:44:43 AM my 5 quid bet from coral was a non runner as the cricket player didnt play
Had a £2.50 e/w accum as a fun bet - Fiveforthree Voy per Ustedes Verasi Silverburn Title: Re: Cheltenham Festival Day Two (Wednesday) Tips Post by: boldie on March 14, 2007, 11:12:49 AM I am on Dangerously good in the coral cup @80-1 betfair (50 and 66 in other places) this horse was decent in 2004 and has been off a while since but came back with a nice enough second on the allw eather a few weeks ago.
coral does 5 places for this race. I am not encouraging anyone to back it though..it's a very open race but me thinks it'll be a big outsider who wins this. (if you get the forecast or tricast in this race you can retire :) Title: Re: Cheltenham Festival Day Two (Wednesday) Tips Post by: boldie on March 14, 2007, 11:50:27 AM I've laid off all the big favourites for today. Denman, Well Chief and Aran Concerto. All too short and all beatable.
Title: Re: Cheltenham Festival Day Two (Wednesday) Tips Post by: booder on March 14, 2007, 11:59:22 AM 2 ew dabbles for me today...

Its far too short a price for me to be even nearly interested in backing it.
Title: Re: Cheltenham Festival Day Two (Wednesday) Tips Post by: Horneris on March 14, 2007, 02:49:32 PM Should have probably noticed that Turko cant jump. Messed up 6 consecutive fences.
Not happy coz had Denman to beat Aces Four in an exacta. If only Aces Four hadnt made that huge error 2 out id be quids in. grrrr. Title: Re: Cheltenham Festival Day Two (Wednesday) Tips Post by: scotty2hatty on March 14, 2007, 03:03:19 PM Noticed Turko made a lot of mistakes whilst studying the form ;)
Title: Re: Cheltenham Festival Day Two (Wednesday) Tips Post by: Tractor on March 14, 2007, 03:03:45 PM Surely its got to be a Dempsey/River City double?
Title: Re: Cheltenham Festival Day Two (Wednesday) Tips Post by: scotty2hatty on March 14, 2007, 03:15:50 PM Hot tip from the girlfriend - Nation State in the 4 o'clock, she says the jockey's shirt is the nicest :dontask:
Title: Re: Cheltenham Festival Day Two (Wednesday) Tips Post by: boldie on March 14, 2007, 03:19:09 PM I laid denman..not for too much so no real damage done. Wasn't a great race by the looks of it but he won it well
Title: Re: Cheltenham Festival Day Two (Wednesday) Tips Post by: Tractor on March 14, 2007, 03:22:46 PM Well Chiefs gone

Better if Copsale Lad wins the next! Title: Re: Cheltenham Festival Day Two (Wednesday) Tips Post by: Horneris on March 14, 2007, 03:29:19 PM Well done Scott.
Didnt have a bet, but as soon as Well Chief fell the winner was obvious. Shouldve got on in running. Class horse. Title: Re: Cheltenham Festival Day Two (Wednesday) Tips Post by: boldie on March 14, 2007, 03:29:32 PM good day for me so far. Better if Copsale Lad wins the next! as long as my 80-1 finishes in the top 5 I'm happy :) up 350£ for the festival now after backing Voy in running Title: Re: Cheltenham Festival Day Two (Wednesday) Tips Post by: Horneris on March 14, 2007, 03:33:43 PM Over to the 3 real betting races.
Title: Re: Cheltenham Festival Day Two (Wednesday) Tips Post by: scotty2hatty on March 14, 2007, 03:35:57 PM very nice.
need copsale lad and direct flight to place in the next two to make it a very good day for me. Boldie, what's your thoughts on the last? Title: Re: Cheltenham Festival Day Two (Wednesday) Tips Post by: totalise on March 14, 2007, 03:39:39 PM come on the Vor Puy!
fancied Copsdale Lad in the next but Oscatello is taking my fancy.. moved to hobbs who i think has done quite well in this race. Gonna have a punt on both and prey. gl gl gl Title: Re: Cheltenham Festival Day Two (Wednesday) Tips Post by: Horneris on March 14, 2007, 03:43:26 PM norrr im edging towards Finger on The Pulse in this race too @ 31 on betfair.
Title: Re: Cheltenham Festival Day Two (Wednesday) Tips Post by: smithy69 on March 14, 2007, 03:45:00 PM laid well chief for a decent bit, and once it was made in running at betfair I backed it back at the price i wanted to ensure a profit - i think i set it at 7/1. Looked away for a split second, turn back as have no sound and see 7k of green on well chief - knew it must have fallen or pulled up
well chuffed with the lay - stupidly short price Title: Re: Cheltenham Festival Day Two (Wednesday) Tips Post by: boldie on March 14, 2007, 03:46:16 PM very nice. need copsale lad and direct flight to place in the next two to make it a very good day for me. Boldie, what's your thoughts on the last? I haven't backed anythign in then last yet..and not laid anything. cork is going to be tricky to beat but you can do worse than backing Judge Roy Bean i think. Mr O Grady knows what he's got in this horse and 25-1 is surely too big.. some very nice horses in this though..that french horse thatwill move to Jonjo Next season is a nice sort (Berings express) Title: Re: Cheltenham Festival Day Two (Wednesday) Tips Post by: action man on March 14, 2007, 03:55:50 PM all star in 4:00
Title: Re: Cheltenham Festival Day Two (Wednesday) Tips Post by: scotty2hatty on March 14, 2007, 03:57:37 PM Copsale Lad into 6/1!!!
I'm on at 12s Title: Re: Cheltenham Festival Day Two (Wednesday) Tips Post by: scotty2hatty on March 14, 2007, 04:00:27 PM very nice. need copsale lad and direct flight to place in the next two to make it a very good day for me. Also, like Lord of Illusion in the 4.40. Each way. Title: Re: Cheltenham Festival Day Two (Wednesday) Tips Post by: boldie on March 14, 2007, 04:07:17 PM very nice. need copsale lad and direct flight to place in the next two to make it a very good day for me. I hate the 4.40 a desperate race. make sure you stick to front runners or runners that go up with the pace though..horses that come from behind haven't done a lot today for some reason. Title: Re: Cheltenham Festival Day Two (Wednesday) Tips Post by: boldie on March 14, 2007, 04:08:06 PM bit EW on byron the vepo right now..trainer very bullish so a tenner eW on it
Title: Re: Cheltenham Festival Day Two (Wednesday) Tips Post by: Acidmouse on March 14, 2007, 04:17:34 PM 4. Oscatello (R Johnson) 8-1 phew got place at least at bigger price.
Title: Re: Cheltenham Festival Day Two (Wednesday) Tips Post by: boldie on March 14, 2007, 04:19:33 PM well baron the feypo (because that's how you spell it apparently) did get a place..so a small profit on that race.
probably won't be doing a lot tomorrow..Friday is the big day...FALL KAUTO, FALL!! Title: Re: Cheltenham Festival Day Two (Wednesday) Tips Post by: Horneris on March 14, 2007, 04:24:05 PM Oscatello EW @20/1 (now 12/1) Copsdale Lad WIN @ 14/1 (now 12/1) Phew! Very handy for me that it managed to hold on for 4th. Thats put me level for the day. Lets win some money now. Title: Re: Cheltenham Festival Day Two (Wednesday) Tips Post by: Acidmouse on March 14, 2007, 04:28:53 PM pss Brent look at new 7 nights scedule for moortown on live section :)
Title: Re: Cheltenham Festival Day Two (Wednesday) Tips Post by: scotty2hatty on March 14, 2007, 04:35:04 PM Had a bit on Oscatello too.
Few bets left: Direct Flight in a couple of each way doubles; Lord of Illusion; Mad Fish; and Judge Roy Bean. Thats all for today. Title: Re: Cheltenham Festival Day Two (Wednesday) Tips Post by: Horneris on March 14, 2007, 04:38:38 PM Parsons Legacy @ 24s, PatrickNineTeeth @ 33 + Direct Flight @ 14 in the next
Whatuthink @ 33, Aranleigh @ 8-1 + Shirley Casper @ 50s in the last 1 of those winning would make it a v good day. 0 of them winning or placing would make it a fairly bad day. Title: Re: Cheltenham Festival Day Two (Wednesday) Tips Post by: totalise on March 14, 2007, 04:40:23 PM turthen for me @ 14.5.
