Bertrand Grospellier is up after his 2-3 flopped trips on a K-3-3-6-5 board. Kevin O'Connell ran into Anders Berg's flush (6-8) on a K-Ad-Td-7s-3d and paid off the 600 to 1,500 River re-raise. Title: Re: EPT Warsaw: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on March 15, 2007, 02:50:44 PM Anders Wijk, who you may recall from Copenhagen several weeks back. Anyhow, he's just eliminated Jonny Hewston in dramatic circumstances, catching 'Texas' with his fingers firmly trapped in the cookie jar. On an all heart flop, John had hit top pair with his A-Q, but come the River, the board had dealt out four hearts. Still, this didn't stop John Hewston taking a stab, well, more than a stab really, with him betting out, Anders Wijk minimum raising and 'Texas' moving all-in. Of course, Anders had the Ace of Hearts and oc course he called, leaving Jon to wonder aimlessly around the rail with a slightly perplexed expression on his face.
Marcel Luske -- 11,650 James Honeybone -- 10,625 Luca Pagano -- 9,100 Rolf Woods -- 10,775 Nick Slade -- 10,000 Matt Tyler -- 10,950 Title: Re: EPT Warsaw: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on March 15, 2007, 03:15:41 PM Elky raises from the cut-off to 300, Ben Grundy re-raises from the button to 1200 with Ahrt Kc. The ex-gamer calls.
Flop: Kd 6d 4c Elky check/calls Ben's 1800 chip bet. Turn: Qd Elky checks, Ben checks. Now at this point Ben looks at his cards and realises he doesn't have the Ahrt at all but the Ad! River: 2d Elky bets 2k, Ben moves in for 6k. Elky calls and mucks. Ben on around 18k, the Frenchman was down to 6k as I left the table to watch a couple of others, but when I came back a minute later Elky was back over 10k again. He's faster than a Quake Pr0 that one. ::) Title: Re: EPT Warsaw: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on March 15, 2007, 03:19:28 PM Iwan Jones -- 13,475
Jonas Molander -- 9,750 John Conroy -- 10,100 Thomas Wahlroos -- 8,800 Ash Hussain dropped to 4k after running 7-5 into A-Q on a Q-7-5-A board, but has climbed back up to 8k. Title: Re: EPT Warsaw: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on March 15, 2007, 03:53:22 PM Nick Slade -- 11,450

Morten 'Pokergirl' Erlandsen (He of the super huge shoulders) is a bit short. Ben Grundy limped for 150, Morten made it 750 which was flat-called by the Jacob Wisniewski in the big blind, Grundy folds. Flop: Tc 4h 5h Jacob check/raises Morten's 1200 bet to 2500. Morten calls Turn: Th Jacob leads out for 2500 and Morten passes. I think Jacob flashed something along the lines of Kc 8c, but the cards weren't lifted up high enough for me to see properly. Title: Re: EPT Warsaw: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on March 15, 2007, 04:11:27 PM Martin Vallo -- 13,200

All-in on Flop with the board reading Aspades 4s 6h 7h Tc Title: Re: EPT Warsaw: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on March 15, 2007, 04:27:14 PM Flatcalling with full house news now. (Blinds still 75/150)
Seat 6, (who I think is Cornelis Alblas) limps, Christopher Ulsrud makes up the blind and Roy Brindley checks. Flop: Ad Ahrt 6h Checked round. Turn: Kd Checked to the limper who bets 425, Christopher calls and Roy folds. River: 3d Now Christopher bets 1200 and Cornelis calls. Christopher: Qd Jd Cornelis: Aspades 3s A bit cautious? Elsewhere, Matt Tyler claims, "I'm being outplayed by eight players, luckily Tony Cascarino is here." Title: Re: EPT Warsaw: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on March 15, 2007, 04:37:00 PM Andrew O'Flaherty -- 9,900

Helge Rahbek Pedersen raises and finds two callers in Peter Eicchardt and Espen Uhlen Jorstand. Flop: 6s 5c 4d Jorstand check calls Pedersen's 600 bet, Eicchardt gets out of the way. Turn: Qd This time Jorstand check calls a 1,700 chip bet. River: 8s Both check. Pedersen: 8d 6d Jorstand: 4c 4h Title: Re: EPT Warsaw: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on March 15, 2007, 05:21:47 PM Ash Hussain raises preflop and leads out on a Th 9c 7c board and he is check/called by his only opponent Cornelis Alblas.
The turn is an 8d and Cornelis checks, as does Ash. The river is the dangerous looking Tc and Cornelis leads out for 1,775, Ash thinks for a while and raises to 5,000. Cornelis calls quickly and Ash flips over 7h 7s. Cornelis mucks his cards in disgust though I saw he had Aspades Jc. Good raise. On the same table Roy Brindley raises from the button to 500 and Azad Pirooti pushes his 3.4k stack all-in. Roy calls. Azad, "You got a good hand Roy?" As he flips over Jd Js. Roy, "I hoped I was in a race." Showing 8h 8d. Board: Qd Jd Ts 2d 4h. Title: Re: EPT Warsaw: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on March 15, 2007, 05:27:51 PM Kevin O'Connell is on (http://www.colmedsupply.com/images/propaqcs2l.jpg)
He made it 600 from the button with 9h 9d and found a similar sized stack push all in for around 6k. Eventually he called and found himself up against Kd Qh. Board: Jd 6c 4d 7d Qs Seeing the river, his opponent let out a whoop of delight and told the table how he doesn't ever hit any outs. This left the DTD player with just 625 chips. Title: Re: EPT Warsaw: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on March 15, 2007, 05:29:06 PM Chip leaders:
Anders Berg -- 30,325 Tomasz Al Chalabi -- 29,575 Roy Brindley -- 27,200 Mateyboy -- 25,075 Dave Welch -- 8,975 Helge Rahbek Pedersen -- 24,275 Ben Grundy -- 22,500 Luca Pagano -- out Morten Erlandsen is OUT. Jacks vs. Queens. Q-T-Q Flop. Title: Re: EPT Warsaw: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on March 15, 2007, 05:53:08 PM Baden winner Thang Duc Nguyen is OUT. Set of Queens on a K-Q-J flop, only Elky is holding A-T.
Title: Re: EPT Warsaw: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on March 15, 2007, 06:03:22 PM Players are just coming back from a 15 minute break. Blinds are now 150/300. Average stack is 11,472 which means we've lost very few players. Certainly, it does seem a lot rockier tonight.
Ash Hussain -- 15k Katja Thater -- 9k Ben Grundy -- 23k Title: Re: EPT Warsaw: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on March 15, 2007, 06:39:01 PM Guess the Hands now.
Raised pot between Age Spets and Tony Cascarino 7h Qh 7c flop Age bets 1k and Tony Casacarino calls. Turn: 9s Age bets 3.5k, after a dwell Tony calls. River: 4d Age puts Tony in for his last 6k or so. Tony eventually calls. Tony ends up being knocked out, but what were the hands? Also on this table is Matt Tyler and Thomas Grundy, Matt has dribbled down to 4.5k or so, mostly through antes, though he also bluffed off 3.5k with A-K to a set. Title: Re: EPT Warsaw: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on March 15, 2007, 06:52:44 PM Hoang Chuc is OUT.
Iwan Jones is also OUT - Kings vs. set of Nines on T-9-5 Flop. And so is Jonas Molander, after running into Aces. Title: Re: EPT Warsaw: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on March 15, 2007, 07:46:21 PM 1st €325,633

Noah Boaken has also bitten the dust. Title: Re: EPT Warsaw: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on March 15, 2007, 08:09:18 PM Anders Wijk -- 14,350

Also, Matt Tyler is a gonna, missed 19 outs according to Nick Slade, so I assume he had a big draw which failed to develop. Jacek Ladny -- 3,925 William Stevenson -- 20,500 Matt Tyler -- out Thomas Grundy -- 10,900 Age Spets -- 35,700 Chris Robson -- 10,250 Peter Gould -- missing Peter Willers Jepsen -- 19,400 Dave Gregory -- 39,175 Thomas Nielsen -- 10,475 Thomas Holm -- 12,775 Sławomir Rypiński -- 21,750 Nick Slade -- 23,200 Ben Grundy -- 12,250 Rolf Woods -- 18,200 Bertrand Grospellier -- 17,225 Title: Re: EPT Warsaw: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on March 15, 2007, 08:30:24 PM No sign of Peter Gould. Also, Matt Tyler is a gonna, missed 19 outs according to Nick Slade, so I assume he had a big draw which failed to develop. Matt called a Scandie raiser with Qd Jd, flop Td 8d 3c. Matt moves in and gets called by A-8. Title: Re: EPT Warsaw: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on March 15, 2007, 08:36:14 PM Nick Slade lost a 30k pot with 5-5 against K-K on a K-T-5-A board. He's recovered a bit, calling two Elky bluffs with J-9 on a K-2-3-9-x board.
Speaking of Elky, he has doubled through Thomas Nielsen. Nick raised, Elky and Thomas called. Flop: Ks 7s 4c Nick checked, Elky bet 3.4k (almost half his stack) and Thomas moved in. Nick passed his A-K and Elky called. Elky: Aspades Qs Thomas: 7d 7h Turn: Js River: 2s. Elky a lot healthier than before. Title: Re: EPT Warsaw: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on March 15, 2007, 09:00:36 PM Christian Oman -- out
Asad Parooti -- missing Richard Lis -- 8,525 Ole Gammeljord -- 16,875 Orjan Holt -- 17,800 Henning Bolstad -- 7,850 Jani Sointula -- 19,675 Juha Helppi -- 16,775 Katja Thater -- 12,250 Robin Keston -- 7,950 Christopher Ulsrud -- 21,200 Roy Brindley -- 17,425 Søren Kongsgaard Nielsen -- 17,425 Dimitrios Nistas -- 17,000 Anders Berg -- 28,000 Title: Re: EPT Warsaw: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on March 15, 2007, 09:10:49 PM Table 4 is the place to be at the moment, the general consensus from the players on there is that they are all steaming, including the dealer.
Rolf Woods, raises in early position, Elky calls from the blinds, Ben Grundy moves all-in from the big blind. Rolf dwells and passes. Ben practically begs Elky to call. "Please call." "I want you to call." "I want a coinflip." And so on... Eventually Elky calls and shows Jh Jc "Uh-oh." says Ben, flipping Tc Ts. (Rolf passed Nines incidentally). Flop: Kd Jd 9d Mr Grundy in deep doo-doo. Turn: 8h Mr Grundy with 8 outs. River: 7c Ben sits back down with 14k now. Elky, "I guess I'm steaming now." Title: Re: EPT Warsaw: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on March 15, 2007, 09:42:40 PM A small crowd of fans/press gatherered around one table, which is normally a sign that something is going down, so off I run, and, not unurprisingly, we had an all-in, a young man named Sebastian Riviere with his testicles on the line.
The Flop read 9h 7h 9d, and Sebastian was awaiting the decision of his Danish opponent, who was probably settling nerves by saying, "I think I might have to call", especially when the Swede held 9s Tc. Well, he did call, and he was behind, but by no means dead with Jd Td, and although a crushing 8c hit the Turn, Riviere er... Rivered his opponent with a fourth nine. -------------------- Henning Bolstad (K-K vs. A-Q) and Thomas Holm are both OUT. -------------------- Slade is also struggling with just 10k after running a set of Fives into a set of Kings and Tens into Ben Grundy's Kings. Title: Re: EPT Warsaw: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on March 15, 2007, 09:53:33 PM enjamin Kang takes out Thomas Mathisen, the latter pushed with A-K against the lead on the turn of an J-T-4-A board and was called instantly by Kang's K-Q
No Queen on the river for a split. Kang up to 30k. Title: Re: EPT Warsaw: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on March 15, 2007, 10:12:48 PM Nick Slade is now OUT.
Opponent raised with A-K, Mateyboy called with A-T, Nick moved all-in with J-J and received two calls. A-K-Q Flop pretty much finished him off. ----------------- Richard Lis is OUT. Didn't see his hand, but I spotted that he was up against Jacks and the board was Ace high. ----------------- Orjan Holt of Norway is emerging as a major contendor with just over 40k. Title: Re: EPT Warsaw: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on March 15, 2007, 11:01:07 PM Dave Welch is still plugging away. Was down to 5k at one point after having his set outdrawn to a runner runner straight. The third spade on the Turn caused the problems, but also stopped Dave's opponent from re-raising the River.
But, although virtually down to the felt, Dave didn't concede and has doubled through twice, one of which was a 7-7 vs. A-J encounter, 7 on the Flop a very welcome sight indeed. Now with his shades down, the usually smiley Dave is looking very serious indeed, and he has every right to as he's managed to build his 5k up to a very playable 21,250, not that far away from average. Title: Re: EPT Warsaw: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on March 15, 2007, 11:20:58 PM Looks like there are 6 tables left; here are three, along with some chip counts:
Davide Vanzo -- 11,000 John Conroy -- 14,800 Katja Thater -- 7,100 Thomas Whalroos -- 21,500 Søren Kongsgaard Nielsen -- 23,800 Christopher Ulsrud -- 41,200 Frederik Hostrup -- 16,600 Ole Gammeljord -- 11,300 Anders Berg -- 34,500 Andrew O'Flaherty -- 25,900 Sebastian Riviere -- 17,600 Pascal Perrault -- 5,200 Juha Helppi -- 14,400 Juuso Kauppinen -- 7,200 Orjan Holt -- 40,200 Jani Sointula -- 17,300 Title: Re: EPT Warsaw: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on March 15, 2007, 11:28:02 PM Was just on my way to undertake the second batch of chipcounts and photos when I was forced into an about turn on the staircase by the passing of two familiar figures. One of them was Thomas Grundy (sry), and the second was Roy Brindley, who confirmed the earlier murmur of his exit by saying, "I knocked myself out, moved in with Ace high but ran into a set, so slightly behind."
Title: Re: EPT Warsaw: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on March 15, 2007, 11:44:48 PM Chris Robson -- 8,200
Paul Testud -- 10,500 Fabrice Soulier -- 8,100 Age Spets -- 55,200 Peter Willers Jepsen -- 63,800 Benjamin Kang -- 36,400 Rolf Woods -- 17,400 Ben Grundy -- 21,800 Bertrand Grospellier -- 29,400 Tomasz Al Chalabi -- 10,100 Ben Searle -- 21,200 Peter Eichhardt -- 13,600 Simon Kelly -- 9,300 Łukasz Mazurek -- 35,500 Ross Boatman -- 2,500 Martin Vallo -- 15,400 -------------------- Just to explain a few of those big dips in chips... Firstly, and probably most painfully, Ireland's Simon Kelly lost a 50k pot with Aces against Queens - two Queens hitting the Flop from what I heard. Secondly, Ross Boatman, in his own words, said, "my bluff got called by Queen high". From what I understand, Ross had an open ended straight draw. -------------------- Oh yes, and I also Marcel Luske chatting away with the cameras on the rail, so he's a gonna. Title: Re: EPT Warsaw: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on March 16, 2007, 12:11:44 AM Hmmm, no internet make Homer mad grrrrr. We've also been denied acess beyond the rail so we couldn't watch anything either. Not a great outcome.
I did spot Thomas Grundy go out with A-Q against K-T, Queen on the flop, King on the river. Ouch. Anyway sorry for complete lack of stuff going on in the last hour, we've been truly hamstrung I'm afraid... |
