Title: Free speech & debate or not?? Post by: Mark S. on September 30, 2005, 01:36:25 PM In all honesty I've never come across a forum like this?
Last Friday, as an intoduction to myself, I offer the first 20 people to reply to my offer the chance of a free poker book. No strings, no nuffin. Free! What I get in response is a set of negative comments that would make a nun blush? This week I've offered my opinion on the following... 1) Pensioners getting sent to prison for not paying council tax 2) Americans having to pay tax on their poker winnings 3) A link to an article written by TJ Cloutier 4) A link to an article in the Sun by Simon Young (Who??) 5) A disconnection to my PC when playing on Stars 6) A proposition bet 7) A thought on how much luck & how much skill in involved in poker 8) My thoughts on content for a TV channel on poker 9) My thoughts on tournaments moving from 1 day to 2 day formats 10) My thoughts on why I think celebrity poker is TOO MUCH! Hmmm...thats 10 posts, all poker related bar 1, and all MY OPINION. Yet members of this forum are determined to slag me off because I have the audacity to have AN OPINION! Mr Ariston is obviously one sad person, as is PokerTruth, as are others! My understanding, when I joined this forum, was that I was FREE to tell it how I saw it...not side with Ariston & on & on & on every two minutes. If the moderators of this forum want me to leave then I will but what will you all talk about then?? Oh yeh...how GREEEAAT life is in Blackpool! Title: Re: Free speech & debate or not?? Post by: AdamM on September 30, 2005, 01:40:01 PM the board is a different place since you arrived. If you leave, eventually we'll go back to talking about the same stuff we did before,in a much friendlier atmosphere.
Title: Re: Free speech & debate or not?? Post by: Heid on September 30, 2005, 01:42:03 PM Mark,
Can I be candid here? Please think about what you are doing - you aren't enarmouring yourself to anyone, you have stooped to name calling, and there is an undertone of you enjoying the disruption you have caused. Please just stop - go have a cuppa, a beer, a joint, whatever it is you need to calm down - and then wait til Tikay or Ironside get on and we can work from there. I know you feel very angry at the moment, but putting stuff up like this isn't going to do any good. Please? Heid xx Title: Re: Free speech & debate or not?? Post by: Karabiner on September 30, 2005, 03:53:17 PM Never has one man got up so many people's noses in as short a space of time. It may help if Mr. ukpoker were to show some interest in any other posts bar his own. Although I fear that this advice may fall upon deaf ears. Title: Re: Free speech & debate or not?? Post by: tikay on September 30, 2005, 04:07:02 PM Guys, PACK IT UP.
UK Poker - please see my "Deleted Thread - UK Poker" thread. I do not wish to hear or see ANY MORE on this matter until the dust settles, & I have had tiime to send you, & others, a PM on the matter. I will use the power of "BAN" if I am forced to. But why not use a bit of common sense, & lie low, just COOL IT for a few days? It's not THAT difficult, until I can write to everyone invlolved is it? If I see any more aggravation on this matter, I WILL start using the power of veto, but I am trying to avoid that. Why don't you do the same? We are tring to run a Live Update here, & I've got guys telling me they don't like this Forum. Use a bit of commion sense, PLEASE. I don't wanna ban ANYONE, but I will if I have to. This is a friendly place, not a stone-throwing areana, or a flame-zone. Anyone who forgets this is gonna get banned. Promise. Title: Re: Free speech & debate or not?? I have my own opinion on this, but as i respect the amount of work you and others put into this site i will not put it here, however if you want it i will tell you tomorrow. Title: Re: Free speech & debate or not?? Post by: tikay on September 30, 2005, 04:19:17 PM Flusdy, you - and ANYONE ELSE - should use the PM system, & keep this aggro OFF FORUM. Thanks. |
