Title: OT: Sky TV Question. Post by: byronkincaid on September 30, 2005, 02:42:17 PM We've got a small child so it's occaisionally good for us to turn down the volume on our TV and have the subtitles on. We haven't been able to get Sky subtitles for 2 or 3 weeks now. I have rang Sky 3 times. Twice I have been told they're too busy and cut off and just now after going though what seemed like 5 minutes of different options they say that it will take 23 minutes to answer my call.
As it's possible that this isn't just me could someone please tell me if they can still get subtitles on their Sky system? If other people can then I'll have to sit on the phone until they answer. If you don't know how to do it, on my (sky+) remote you press the services button then system setup then languages and subtitles. Thanks Title: Re: OT: Sky TV Question. Post by: Heid on September 30, 2005, 02:45:39 PM While I would never normally publish the url of another forum, in this case I think it's ok:
http://forum.digitalspy.co.uk/board/forumdisplay.php?f=27 Digital Spy have loads of forums on Sky etc, and there will be someone there who can tell you what the story is with the subtitles, and if they are off, or of they aren't how you can get them etc :) I don't use the subtitles at all - oh apart from the live service the Beeb do on Eurovision night because it is funny :) Heid xx Title: Re: OT: Sky TV Question. Title: Re: OT: Sky TV Question. Post by: jbsc7769 on September 30, 2005, 10:38:10 PM dont quote me on this but i think it has moved. If yo upress "help" i think there is an option there. I believe this happened on the last update. They also changed it so if you taped a program on Sky+ and you watch it in the day, you have to enter your pin number for anything that was shown after watershed. stupid idea.

Got through to them a minute ago but just got completely fobbed off and told to ring for a software update tomorrow. Probably woulda had better answers if I'd emailed Stars support instead :D :D
Title: Re: OT: Sky TV Question. Post by: snoopy1239 on October 01, 2005, 12:56:50 AM Fine here.
Doesn't work on all programmes don't forget. Title: Re: OT: Sky TV Question. Post by: jbsc7769 on October 01, 2005, 04:24:42 PM To do an update simply press *Services* *4* *0* *1* then *select*. If you go to , I think, number 8, it is Software Update or something similar. If you are using sky+ it will remove whatever prgrams you have saved on your Hard Drive. (when doing this, after you press *0* it looks as though nothing is happening, but it is.
*BEFORE* you do that, i would suggest you try again through the help button but ensure you are clicking *save settings* as my friends did not work and that was the only problem!! |
