Should be a corker.

4-6 barrera, 6-5marquez.

Wisdom seems to be that it will go the distance with points victories being priced up at 6-5 and 2-1.

these prices from paddypower.

I am not so sure marquez's eyes will stand up to the 12 round examination so have a few bets around round the later rounds, these being available at 40-1.

Even taking into consideration the point deduction i dont know how the judges have given it by that far!!

Marquez's fight by maybe 3 or 4 rounds maximum.

But the scoring in the earlier Hopkins fight was ridiculous.

Cracking fight though - and no one would complain if there's a rematch.  Proper boxing that.

Awesome fight again from the featherweight Mexicans,  I fancied Marquez before the fight.  Barrera started the stronger but after the first round Marquez started to take over and dominate, after the dramatic 7th it could have went either way.

Tough choice to choose your favourite out of them 2 but after what barrera did in the 7th I was hoping for a Marquez win.

Once again the Las Vegas judges make an absolute joke of all the score cards, Steve Forbes won the first fight IMO, the little Phillie guy held his own for parts of the fight and the Main event was never that wide.

Great night of boxing tho, hope Barrera comes back for the rematch!

I think Barerra was justified in what he did. The referee didn't score it as a knockdown, didn't send him to a neutral corner and didn't get inbetween the two fighters. It was just terrible officiating.

Marquez was on his hands for a good 3-4 seconds before Barrera sledged him, plenty of time to take it as a knockdown (which it should have been) and send him to a corner. If Barrera can see that the ref wants him to carry on, then of course he's going to hit him.

Yeah thats right, the official did'nt even start the count so it must have been confusing for Barrera.

I want to know how it was scored as a 10-8 round on all the judges' cards?

Did Barrera hit him after he touched down (obviously he did)?  Did Marquez touch down after a punch (obviously he did)?  Without the point being deducted, that would be a 10-8 round to Barrera.  With the point deduction, that would make it a 10-9 to Barrera.

Now, it has to be the ref's fault.  If he signals that there wasn't a knockdown then the judges can't score it as such.

So what was Barrera penalised for?  Hitting the fighter who wasn't defending himself? That's Marquez's fault then - or if it was a knockdown, it's the ref's fault for not indicating as much to Barrera, and it's not as though he didn't have time before he threw the punch.

Still a daft thing to do by Barrera, but the ref and the judges tarnished another great fight involving Barrera (and Marquez).

A rematch would be most appreciated by all.

You play the whistle. Keep punching him until the official tells you not to, even if both hands are on the mat.
