Title: Opinions please
Post by: M3boy on October 01, 2005, 09:59:33 AM
Are you influenced by people's actions?

By the above I mean, if you are check raised, are you influenced by their actions to call?

Example :

You are involved in a pot with Ks Qd (you have raised 5xBB from the button with SB BB + 2 limpers. SB BB + I limper folds, one limper calls)

Flop comes  4c  jd qc

Limper bets 400 (4xBB)

You raise it to 1200. Limper calls

Turn comes  kh

Limper checks, you bet 1200. After playing with his chips, counting out the 1200 and then counting what he has left, the Limper re raises all in for additional 3000.

Do you call? Are you influenced by the fact that he has counted his chips that way? Or do you put them on a straight, and fold your hand.

BTW the 3000 raise will be neally 80% of what you have left.

Or he's got a set?

I'm not influenced by his actions as such, it's quite common isn't it? are you thinking it's a sign of weakness, I'm not sure?, but I'm losing to JJ,44,A10

I think I reluctantly fold

Did you not play last night?

Yes I played

The hand above is the hand I went out on

I was the re raiser with 9c 10c

I asked the point, because I was trying to show weakness when I re raised all in to entice the call.

How did u finish up m8?

Weak quite often means strong, someone acting in this manner is usually strong. I find a quick allin usually looks more like a bluff than a dwell up and usually gets called.

ah, you clever sod!

I think with KQ here as your foe I pass

I would have thought long and hard about whether your counting chips etc was weakness but in the end would have read you as strong I think

did he fill up on the end?

me?   A strange night...hit trips 4 times including set over set, KK,JJ twice, QQ 3 times and still didn't make the final. Passed QQ twice to heavy action pre flop, both times correctly

coup de grace came when Paul Alterman limped, I raised with KK, he's all in from the re-raise with, yup, AA...the K comes on the flop, followed by Q J 10 to give him top straight

Funny old game Greavsie!

The winners were Dingdell's bern, Lloyd Greensite and Dick Lynch
