Title: Another phone scam..... Post by: KingPoker on March 20, 2007, 09:04:30 PM was on the phone to my missus when the other line came through with the number 01563551351 so obviously carried on speaking as didnt know who it was. Then came the beepsaying answerphone message but i decided to google the number before i checked my messages and found this with exactly same number.
I was woken up by a call to my mobile just before midnight on Monday. I answered, but they'd hung up. I got in to work next day and mentioned it and somebody else had had one too. So I called the number. I was greeted by a barrow boy wanting to discuss my phone contract upgrade. I said I wouldn't be interested thankyouverrrymuch! It looks like the idea is (a) the call you receive is just an automated one and there never is anybody there to answer, (b) the fact that you've called them means they can get around the cold-calling laws, (c) you phone them so you pay the cost of the call. I don't know what it is that makes people think that pissing you off is going to make you want to buy something from them! __________________ So just be aware, will be deleting the answer phone message now. |
