Title: To go with the flow or throw? Post by: JAXtheLAD on October 01, 2005, 10:16:18 PM Hello again to one and all,i would just like to hear a few different opinions on the subject of hitting a run of cards(online) as i have often found that as soon as i don`t go with them, they come back to haunt me(once to often),i only ask as i`m talking about calling with cards i wouldn`t normally run with but more often than not it has turned out that i would have won the hand,i know i sound like i could possibly answer my own question. i feel i`ve got to the point where i think its to your advantage to not be predictable and not play premium hands all the time as other players don`t know what your holdiing, anyway i just wondered if i`m alone to get this feeling from online poker or is does it seem to go that way in live games too?

don't play filth on the off chance of hitting miracles. the human mind only remembers the few times exceptional things happen, not the large majority of times nothing remarkable happens Title: Re: To go with the flow or throw? Post by: snoopy1239 on October 02, 2005, 12:55:13 AM If you count the amount of times that weak holding has missed the flop compared to the amount that hit, then you'll see that they're not worth messing around with too much. As Adam said, memory is very selective and generally focuses on recalling the times where your 2-7 would have made a full house.
If you're worried about being predictable, then don't be. Online, people don't take too much notice and they'll often pay you off anyway, even if they've noticed you're only playing big cards. There's nothing wrong with playing rags though as long as you know when to let them go. |
