Title: When Dewi Met Roberto Post by: snoopy1239 on March 27, 2007, 01:04:28 AM Most you will probably already know that Dewi played this week's GUKPT Cardiff, but the Welsh boozer also turned up for their £200 satellite into that event. In this satellite, Dewi encountered a certain Mr Roberto Romanello, who, of course, finished third in the main event. As soon as he realized i was English, we sort of teamed up and ripped the piss out of a few nasty American chaps on the table.

I played/drank with him a lot during the brighton festival and i thought he was a breath of fresh air at the tables, he chats a lot and has a lot of fun at the table if he wasn't such a good player i would want him at my table in every tournament. For me, it is personal preference. Having not won a seat in a super sat for a while, I have decided to buy into events of £1000 and below. It is very easy to do £200 a time in a £50 rebuy super sat and for me, I can spend that £200 to greater effect at the moment in other MTT's or Cash. I suppose if I was running bad, and could not justify the £1000 buy in, then I would have to go back to super sats. I sat next to Roberto on the 2nd day in the APAT event in Cardiff. A good player and a really nice guy to chat to. It's funny that I didn't know about how much he's made over the last year or so until I read about it in Poker Player magazine. I'd have probably bricked myself if I'd have known. He's certainly an aggressive player and pushed virtually every hand on the bubble, and bear in mind there were a few people with stacks to hurt him if he got caught. I'm guessing he boosted his stack by at least 50k in chips by doing this. He also has the chat to really make people doubt their hand. It's almost Jamie Gold like. I have to agree with the general consensus on Roberto. He acquitted himself very well on all fronts at APAT and I hope he goes a long way in the game.
