Title: Re: Bluffing dry side pots. Post by: thetank on April 02, 2007, 05:48:21 PM Maybe , but there was dust in the side pot tho.
I did it to perpetuate the bubble, knowing that the main pot winner would have enough chips to fold his 1200 BB next hand. Title: Re: Bluffing dry side pots. Post by: doubleup on April 02, 2007, 07:02:08 PM Hmmm not sure that Seat 6 was folding much - you might have got him off a gutshot I suppose. What do you do if he calls your weakish bet?
Title: Re: Bluffing dry side pots. Post by: thetank on April 02, 2007, 09:40:08 PM I was 80-90% that seat 6 is folding. To say it was a long bubble is an understatement, and his play had been fairly hang on for ITM-ish rather than gambling it up. My read is that he can lay down top pair here.
If he has any kind of strong hand, I know about it immediately via a call/raise, and am unlikely to waste more than the 800 chips I've just put in. (Might nick it if a scare card lands after a flat call, might not) Made the move not knowing that all-in player had top pair of course. Would have looked slicker if govo88 won the pot with 9 high or something. Title: Re: Bluffing dry side pots. Post by: temp0r on April 02, 2007, 09:45:18 PM nuttin wrong with that imo.
i got slated at a £5 rebuy last year for about half an hour by some donk for bluffing the side pot with queen high. refered to as a 'dry side pot' by the donk. which was 4x the size of the main pot. lol. must say i think that tilted the table enough for me to take advantage. |
