Title: Re: Words not necessary..... Post by: thetank on April 03, 2007, 04:38:38 PM Maybe now people will start standing behind that yellow line on the station platform.
Title: Re: Words not necessary..... Post by: AndrewT on April 03, 2007, 04:40:27 PM The poor trainspotters will have no chance trying to catch the engine number as it flys by.
Title: Re: Words not necessary..... Post by: matt674 on April 03, 2007, 04:51:08 PM Wouldn't work here in the UK, apparently we have the wrong wind currents.............

Yes, or else this may happen.... Title: Re: Words not necessary..... Post by: Digger on April 03, 2007, 05:12:25 PM Kinda makes the Chester to Liverpool Lime St. on match day look a tad poor ;envious;
Title: Re: Words not necessary..... Post by: Mango99 on April 03, 2007, 05:30:48 PM Wow! That actually is pretty amazing!
Title: Re: Words not necessary..... Post by: AndrewT on April 03, 2007, 06:01:28 PM I believe that the first customers for these new trains will be the French Army, as they said it will allow them to retreat faster than ever before.
Title: Re: Words not necessary..... Post by: KingPoker on April 03, 2007, 06:06:45 PM The best bit is where it goes under the bridge then is just gone when it comes out other side!
What were they flying in that could keep up!! Thought the same thing, I kknow a lynx helicopter can do 200mph, awesome helicopters! Rather watch that than a train! Title: Re: Words not necessary..... Post by: Royal Flush on April 03, 2007, 06:23:52 PM Loved the comment on youtube:
All they need now is a flux capacitor and a bolt of lightning. Time travel sorted. Title: Re: Words not necessary..... Post by: thetank on April 03, 2007, 06:24:52 PM So erm, how fast was it?

But only if the lightning delivers 1.21 Jigawatts. Title: Re: Words not necessary..... Post by: Bongo on April 03, 2007, 06:44:12 PM 356mph

Title: Re: Words not necessary..... Post by: mex on April 03, 2007, 07:12:30 PM Doesn't france have a really bad train crash record?
Title: Re: Words not necessary..... Post by: booder on April 03, 2007, 07:14:17 PM Title: Re: Words not necessary..... Post by: tikay on April 03, 2007, 07:14:45 PM Doesn't france have a really bad train crash record? It will do if that thing comes off the track. It is WAY too fast, & if summat went wrong, there would be carnage. a 1,000 tonne projectile travelling out of control at 350 mph takes some stopping. Title: Re: Words not necessary..... Title: Re: Words not necessary..... Post by: Sark79 on April 04, 2007, 11:57:55 AM Such a cool train.
I watched a TV show once on one of the SKY channels. It was about possible transportation of the future, they gave the example that in the future a person may be able to live in London or Glasgow, etc and work in New York, Tokyo, Beijing,........ . They showed pods similar to small cable cars and said that one day it may be possible to travel at such a speed that travel between these places would be common place on a daily basis. I would love to be around then to see that happening. Trains such as this are probably the first steps to making something like this a reality. Tikay, what do you like more, modern trains or old traditional steam trains ? Title: Re: Words not necessary..... Post by: tikay on April 05, 2007, 10:22:26 AM Such a cool train. Tikay, what do you like more, modern trains or old traditional steam trains ? Traditional steam locomotives, obviously. They are not "steam trains", by the way. The "steam" part is the locomotove, or engine, "train" is the collective term for the locomtive & carriages, or rolling stock. |
