It's called the Broadway and it's just off 5 ways island, exit between tesco and what was the Swallow hotel and there's a slip on the left into the underground carpark. I spoke to someone who played there last night (and saw some piccys he took) VERY nice!! He said they're gonna do 3 comps per week to start with NO BUYIN FEE and NO SESSIONS on cash games to start!!! He thinks Sat, Sun and Monday but can't confirm this. Apparently a strict dress code is in force so beware. Nice to hear of dress code being tightened up - I think this is well overdue. Title: Re: New Birmingham Casino Post by: Newportlad on April 10, 2005, 11:23:05 PM I quite agree with you Tikay.
Cardiff Grosvenor has a dress code, but everytime i've been there, i see people in jeans and t-shirts, or football tops. If you are going to have a dress code, then enforce it. Sod's law is the one time you dont quite match the code, then you're the one that gets stopped on the door. The first Casino I went to was Bournemouth and I dressed smart casual (open necked shirt and trousers , not jeans) as directed in the membership pack ...getting inside most were dressed as if they had just come from the beach...The staff shrugged and said "It's a holiday resort what can you do" After saying that the card players were enthusiastic and very friendly
I feel when i go to a casino that it is a special night out and try to dress accordingly and make an effort , those that know me know i always dress as a sack of turds when i can at home. i suppose if you spend a lot of time then you can become blase... But doesn't Marcel Luske always look smart ... perhaps a Poll of some decription on tightening of standards of dress .. |
