Title: Re: Poker kings Post by: NoflopsHomer on October 05, 2005, 12:11:29 AM Been watching an old episode of Late Night Poker whilst suffering yet another bad beat deep in an MTT (120k pot, 2 outer). Anyway, before DC was blonde, was he simply known as 'El Brownie' or simply 'El'? ;)
Odd watching Helmuth not always acting like a whiney child too. P.S. Poker Kings was pretty good! *a *a *a *a *a Title: Re: Poker kings Post by: snoopy1239 on October 05, 2005, 01:41:25 AM I've seen it a few times now and it's a really interesting documentary.
It's an eye-opener to see Bushy win 10k in Euros and just say, 'Well, that just about covers my expenses'. Title: Re: Poker kings Post by: EvilSteve on October 05, 2005, 02:04:43 AM Yeh it's mad how they are winning a a few thou. in tournaments and saying it's basically only covering petrol money and not making them much of a profit.
Title: Re: Poker kings Post by: The Colonel on October 05, 2005, 11:06:49 AM It was weird and showed how quick it's changed that Trumper was third top earner in Europe that year and yet finished down for the year.
Also, if it was filmed in 2004 and it said at the end that Carlo was given a 2 year jail term for fraud and tax evasion or whatever it was, how comes he's in the Speed Poker this month? Title: Re: Poker kings Post by: TightEnd on October 05, 2005, 11:09:26 AM Carlo came out at the beginning of the year, and promptly won an event at the Luton January festival
Title: Re: Poker kings Post by: Colchester Kev on October 05, 2005, 11:13:02 AM Carlo came out at the beginning of the year Wait til he see's that LOL LOL Im sure there were many tears shed by the women poker fans across the world :) Title: Re: Poker kings Post by: TightEnd on October 05, 2005, 11:13:44 AM he took his time over it though
Title: Re: Poker kings Post by: Junior Senior on October 05, 2005, 04:00:57 PM first time i have seen this and was very impressed - though it was excellent!
Isn't there another one around or something similar that includes Marty Wilson or am i getting confused and was it just a one off documentary? That was a prog about the Aussie Million Marty Wilson was in Million Dollar Deal filmed around 1999 WSOP. Might have been in another doc about Aussie Millions too. He does get around a bit :D Title: Re: Poker kings Post by: Longy on October 05, 2005, 06:26:32 PM I believe the documentary you are on about is called the "Million Dollar Deal". Pokerzone were showing about every week, 6 months ago. The bit on Mike McGhee is brillant and heartbreaking to see someone throw it all away under the pressure of the situation. Oh and I believe its the 1998 wsop, 1999 was the year Noel Furlong won it.
