Title: How to handle a big stack shorthanded? Post by: bhoywonder on April 15, 2007, 01:34:14 PM $1500 freeroll 900 started..down to 6...
i have 150000 chips...chipleader 2 to my left has 850000!! he is hitting everything and completing all his draws...dont rate him much...1.3 million in circulation cl in bb..i am the button and get AKos...bb is 10k all fold to me i raise to 52k total..sb folds,bb calls... flop comes Th 7h 3s..he checks..i push......he calls with Js Kc and spikes a jack on the river to ko me...not bothered about the bad beat just wondered how i could have handled the situation better or even how to handle this serial caller? Post by: GlasgowBandit on April 15, 2007, 01:45:51 PM I don't think there is much you can do to be honest in his situation he picks up two paint cards and its all going in he can afford a few slip ups and still be in a healthy position. I think with the AK u have to push against him pre flop and hope he lays it down but dont ever think he is passing KJ in this situation.
Oh aye in general I don't think i would be raising much I would be prepared to call and see flops especially if i felt he would call any raise and unless i picked up a big pair I would be peeling off cheap flops. Post by: temp0r on April 16, 2007, 02:46:13 AM shove pre. put the decision to him. you can't let him stop-go you. turns out you made the right flop move but i still think it's acceptable to push on someone preflop here even with a stupid amount of BB when their range is huge.
