Sigh, pun-tastic .....Neverends does it?

Still trying to understand the instant call with  Ks 9c, did he give any explanation for his thinking because I struggle to find a good reason. Maybe some of the more wily and experienced out there could enlighten me.

Don't try to understand it - at the end of the day as a poker player thats what you want. A player putting their tournament life on the line when you are a big favourite to win the hand. :)

Good on you, Tighty.  We look forward to hearing the responses.

Eck, we are all so proud of you, mate.

Cheers Matt, I appreciate that and know what you are saying. But Tighty was spot on in the article, he is far more experienced than me, I am mince HU (ask Horneris) he could have passed and wore me down probably, stacks would have been about 700k v 500k with 10k,20k blinds not exactly panic situation. Even if he thought best case scenario he had two overcards to a small pair then he is still 45% v 55%. I would have understood me making some crazy move but can't seem to figure this one i'm afraid. He seemed to know when kings were coming maybe, he told me in my AK v QQ race a king is coming so maybe i just need to develop that second sight now.  :dontask:

Anyway that's off my chest now feel better...

Thats what i'm saying - you dont need to figure this one out. Poker is all about getting your opponents to make mistakes and you got yours to make one here. Its not about trying to figure out why they made the mistake but what you can do to encourage them to make more.

Its a bugger when the mistake pays off, especially when there is such a big prize up for grabs - but in the long run you'll be the one better off.

And just because someone has more experience doesn't make them a better player, if you sit there thinking "i've got no chance here, he's a better player than me" then you will probably allow yourself to get outplayed. The power of positive thought squire - it works wonders!! ;)

(of course ignore all this if we happen to be drawn together in the heads up tourney at BB4 :)up)

The K9 hand was very suprising, he had struck me as a very tight player.. he'd apparently folded QQ earlier in the tournament pre-flop and things like folding AQ to a single standard raise to his BB - they just dont seem to add up to someone who would play the K9 hand like that!

Just very unlucky Eck, you played very well and I had maximum respect for you!

The dealer finally hit the stacked deck and gave him the wink obv.

wow. He got it in against you with K 9. V Poor. I didnt see that before.

Unlucky man, i just assumed youd gone off on one with a flush draw or something, but it turns out you got it in with the best and deserved the win. WP.

I don't think I'll ever forget that K-9 v TT hand!

And yes, I'll be interested to hear Phil's thoughts.

What amazed me was the speed of the call - all the chips were in the middle in a nana-second, I would have sworn he had trapped you with KK or AA!

Such is poker, full of surprises & curiosities.

Whatever we all think, we had two worthy players battling Heads Up, both of them a credit to APAT, & Poker.

You hadn't given him your poker card reading glasses had you?  ;whistle;
