Title: Should Ram & Marc pay up? Post by: Tractor on April 19, 2007, 08:18:53 PM What do you think?
Its your choice - you decide. Title: Re: Should Ram & Marc pay up? Post by: wsopin07 on April 19, 2007, 08:58:17 PM What do you think? Its your choice - you decide. Problem is the answer is not that easy, even if they pay now the "bull shit" they have gone through does not help the situation Title: Re: Should Ram & Marc pay up? Post by: lazaroonie on April 19, 2007, 10:53:48 PM can we not have a "dont know" option, cos I certainly dont know all the facts, so would be unwilling to make a choice.
Title: Re: Should Ram & Marc pay up? Post by: londonpokergirl on April 19, 2007, 11:12:03 PM reading Rams report on HM i'd say no they got conned
Title: Re: Should Ram & Marc pay up? Post by: ChipRich on April 19, 2007, 11:50:56 PM I think they should yes!
They took the bet on, Marc quit when he knew he was getting hustled, but Ram being the gambler he is, decided to carry on even though he knew what was going on to see if he could win back the $$ he had lost. ............. Obv he lost even more and should pay up! Title: Re: Should Ram & Marc pay up? Post by: 4KingNutz on April 20, 2007, 08:51:47 AM I think they should yes! Ram clearly believes that he was playing golf for money with a friend and that the friend should have been honest about the improvement in his game. PI on the other hand thought he was gambling via golf and friend or not it was fair game to get any edge he could.
They should really get together, agree a settlement and make a statement that saves face for all parties. Title: Re: Should Ram & Marc pay up? Post by: Pokerron on April 20, 2007, 09:14:31 AM After reading Marcs story I thought no, but having read Rams I now think they should pay up. If they had stopped the moment they realised there was something wrong I'd have more sympathy, but they didnt, if I read things correctly they even raised the stakes!
That said I also feel a good solution would be a rematch in the summer with all players playing off scratch, $200k winner takes all. Title: Re: Should Ram & Marc pay up? Post by: Muahahahaha on April 20, 2007, 11:35:38 AM Poker players have been golf hustlers since before Tikay was born.
The first question Brunson asked Wasicka when he first sat at the HSP was where has he moved to. The second was, does he play golf. If you're dumb enough to think any poker player is just playing golf coz he fancies some fresh air, you deserve all you get. Title: Re: Should Ram & Marc pay up? I think you may be wrong about there being golf hustlers before Tikay was born, golf was only invented in the 15th century. ;D Golf originated during the 15th century. Golf originated from a game played on the coast of Scotland during the 15th century. Golfers would hit a pebble instead of a ball around the sand dunes using a stick or club. After 1750, golf evolved into the sport as we recognize it today. In 1774, Edinburgh golfers wrote the first standardized rules for the game of golf. Title: Re: Should Ram & Marc pay up? I thought it originated in Holland where it was played on ice and called "kolf", and then adapted by the Scots later. Title: Re: Should Ram & Marc pay up? Title: Re: Should Ram & Marc pay up? Post by: Muahahahaha on April 20, 2007, 05:38:05 PM Either way, if I play golf / kolf /rolf bloody harris for all I care
with my mates, I'll play for a few bob. And if one of them has sneaked in a bit of practise, & outplays me, I'll give him the cash & make him pay for the first round in the bar. That'll make us quits. But we don't fall out over it. If Ram was conned out of too much money it must mean he was going into the game thinking he had the edge, so he wanted to play for serious money. He was outclassed. Just pay up & get on the practise ground. Title: Re: Should Ram & Marc pay up?
