Title: A VERY Special Live Update, starts TODAY, from The Bellagio
Post by: tikay on April 21, 2007, 10:47:31 AM
While floppy & Dana continue their uniquely offbeat Live Update fom the Manchester GUKPT, Jen & sloppy are out in Las Vegas, to bring you a blonde Live Update from the $25,000 WPT.

The Bellagio WPT - $25,000 to enter - is known amongst the Pros as the real World Championship, & it's some comp.

Last year, some 600+ entries stumped up the massive $25k, & if I recall correctly, blondeite Roland de Wolfe nearly won it, eventually having to settle for a podium finish.

In 2005 we had the famous Final where blondeite Paul Maxfield finished 2nd, after some "interesting" plays between the eventual winner Tuan Le, & the 3rd, Hasan Habib, who was cross-booked with the winner. Rob Hollink was 5th, Phil Ivey 6th, & Joe Beevers 7th. In 9th was Chris "Jesus" Ferguson, & 10th was Juha Helppi. Greg Raymer cashed, as did blonde favourites Dave Colclough and Peter Costa.

2004 saw Swedish Martin de Knijff won it, from Hasan Habib, with TJ Cloutier Finalling. Mike "The Mouth" Matusow cashed, as did Ross Boatman.

I don't know who is playing it this year, but I imagine Roland, Marc Goodwin, Phil Ivey (that'd be a interesting table), The Hendon Mob, Ben Grundy, Marcedl Luske, Greg Rymer, Joe Hachem, Phil Hellmuth, Little Danny, and a goodly few Brits/Europeans will be there.

So there you have it - the Manchester GUKPT, & The Bellagio $25,000 WPT, both on blonde simultaneously today & tomorrow, with the WPT running through until Thursday I think. Not bad value for free, eh? Please try & support both blonde Cardroom & DTD, as that's where the money to run these Live Updates has to come from.

Better open up two screens!

Enjoy.

knowing tikay as we do, its far more likely to be that he hasn't spotted your question yet

there was an excellent explanation of the interesting play 3 handed on Paul Phillips live journal blog, "Extempore",...search the archives on there sir!

Not at all - I left home at midday to drive down to London, where I have just arrived, 3 hours later.

I don't have time to answer your question right now, but Tighty has steered you the right way - try Paul Phillip's site, "Extempore", or send a PM to "I Know It".

By the way, Paul Phillips has largely deserted Tournament Poker these days, since his Daughter Ivey was born - he's now a full-time scrabble player. I kid you not.
