It looks like we're not getting a live feed to the press room, which is a bit upsettingbecause I've grown to hate the stairs between the casino floor and the press room. So it looks like we'll be running up and down said stairs intermittently to bring you as much information as we can scrape together...

Been given more wrong information, sigh. The blinds have actually been rolled back to 6k/12k with a 1k ante.

No live feed yet, so Dana and I are taking it turns squeezing into the little tv area.

Barry raises to 26k, Nick Slade calls in the big blind.

Flop:

Th Ac Qh

Nick checks, Barry bets 45k, Nick c/raises to 100k. Barry folds.

Dave raises to 26k, and takes the blinds.

Barry raises to 27k, Dave calls, Richard re-raises to 100k and everyone folds.

We've lost one!

Victor Kaye pushes preflop; Tom Sambrook moves all in too.

Victor -  Kc 4d

Tom -  Ks Kh

Board -  3d 5c 9h 5d Jc

So Victor Kaye is OUT in 9th place, winning £5,700.

Ryan Fronda has been doing some sterling blind-nicking work too - he's up to over 100k now, although with blinds 6k/12k/1k he's still not comfortable.

Title: Re: Manchester GUKPT: FINAL DAY - At A Glance
Post by: danafish on April 22, 2007, 05:52:18 PM
Barry raises to 34k from the button when it folds around to him; Ricahrd Ashby calls.

Flop -  9h 3s 7d - check, check.

Turn -  3c - check, check.

River -  8h

They both check, and Barry turns over  Ac Kh; Ashby mucks. Barry is not allowed his ipod today, and it remains to be seen how he will be affected by this...

Dave Colclough has found his aggression, stealing two hands preflop and pushing Barry Neville off another one on the flop with a 40k bet.

Chris Bruce, Ryan Fronda, Barry Neville and Richard Ashby see a flop.

 2s 3c Td

Chris checks, Ryan checks, Barry checks, Richard attempts to steal with 35k, only for Chris to move in. They all pass. Quite a big pot, that.

Greek Jack raises preflop to 40k. Says Barry, "Why do you want to take my blinds?" Jack is defensive - "How many times have I taken your blinds?" "What, in the last 6 years?"

Barry lets him take it...

Ok, has anyone had an AA count for Dave this weekend?  My estimation puts it at 12 times!!  When things go right, they just do.  Makes up for the last year or two.

well actually poker s luck game  and dc didnt have much before and so far everyting goes his way

even when u play j6   flop comes jj6!

I always knew it was just luck! That's why I do so badly...  :'(

Dave said yesterday that he only wins when he's miles ahead or miles behind, if he gets it in on a coinflip he's bound to lose...

Title: Re: Manchester GUKPT: FINAL DAY - At A Glance
Post by: danafish on April 22, 2007, 07:02:45 PM
Ryan Fronda raises to 50k from the button, leaving himself with about 90k - Barry folds his small blind. On the big blind, Dave Colclough announces all in. There is a minute or so of anxious running-of-Fronda-hands-through-quite-attractive-if-you-like-that-sort-of-thing-Fronda-hair, before Ryan says, "I've got enough to get away" (debatable) and folds, showing  Ad. Probably a good fold. Probably.

Post by: NoflopsHomer on April 22, 2007, 07:02:51 PM
Ryan pushes the next hand for 91k, Richard Ashby thinks about it but folds.

Barry raises to 41k next hand, taking the blinds.

Another blind-steal for Dave. He's probably over a million in chips now. At one with the game, man...

Nick makes up the small blind. Chris Bruce checks,

Title: Re: Manchester GUKPT: FINAL DAY - At A Glance
Post by: danafish on April 22, 2007, 07:11:46 PM
Richard Ashby makes it 37k to go. Ryan Fronda spends some time considering. He checks his cards again and makes a "hmm, not bad" face at them, and counts all his chips out and puts them in a single big stack. He still passes though.

Title: Re: Manchester GUKPT: FINAL DAY - At A Glance

5-way-pot-nicking action from Tom Sambrook.

Dave, Tom, Nick and Ryan all call the 16k, and Barry checks.

The flop  8d 6s 6d checks around to Tom, who bets 80k - all fold.

Title: Re: Manchester GUKPT: FINAL DAY - At A Glance
Post by: danafish on April 22, 2007, 09:38:33 PM
Barry is really suffering from the ipod lack. He's humming Take That songs to himself.

Anyway, he raises to 47k and Nick Slade moves in - 125k total.

Call!

Nick - 7h 7d

Barry - 2h 2s

Board -  Ad 9d 7c 9c 3d

Nick doubles up to almost 300k with the blinds. Barry down to 400 or so. Not sure about that call. He could sing "I Want You Back For Good" to the chips if he wanted to. Or Could It Be Magic and he comes back from this setback? He needs to Relight His Fire...

Tom makes it 70k from the button, Nick passes. Ryan looks at his cards.

"You shouldn't have looked," says Tom.

Ryan folds, but considering he was down to just 1,600 at the end of level 4, he's ground out a great result no matter the outcome now.

On a flop of  9d 2c 5c, Barry bets 32k at Dave. "Don't go over the top of me," he says, "You won't come back." Mystic Dave knows what he is doing, and calls.

Turn -  Kd and Barry bets 44k. Again the spirits tell Dave that he is ahead, and he calls.

River -  9s and Barry bets a whopping 96k. Dave calls, without even needlessly dwelling for ages, although there is some gurning involved (sorry, no pictures as yet, but if you scroll up a bit you'll see him trying to smile).

Dave -  4d 4s

And Barry mucks! What a call from the One.

Ooooh, chips moving back in Barry's direction. The humming must be interfering with Mystic Dave's chi.

Barry raises to 45k from the button, Dave reraises to 150k, Barry re-reraises to 336k.

Some dwelling, and an eventual fold.

Barry shows AK.
