I occasionally lecture in some obscure form's of Operational Research & support a Uni website.

Design engineer, designing industrial gearboxes. Took my nephew and niece to Manchester's Science and Industry Museum last week and saw one of our gearboxes there. You wound a handle and it lifted a 500kg Mini vertically off the ground.

I use a solid modelling package to complete my designs, and then produce production drawings from them.

This one's a wire drawing machine which I did for China. My friends at work gave them the nickname "Magic" gearboxes, due to the complexity of them. The client was impressed with the build quality as well, and is interested in buying more.
