Lets say a poker room offered you a series of sats to win a WSOP package and said that if you win the WSOP they will give you $100 million as a bonus ...

Would this influence your choice of sites to play your qualifiers on ?

If it was Mansion, I would send them an angry e-mail asking for $200 million

they could probably insure the risk easily enough... I have no idea how much it would cost however.. but the rake generated and subsequent play would (possibly) be pretty substantial

Yes, it would be a standard insurance job - I certainly remember Noble Poker advertising a ridiculous $100 MILLION TOURNAMENT where you could only win the big money if you got dealt a royal flush in the final. In spades. They'd simply take out an insurance policy against it happening.

I can honestly would say that 100 million extra wouldnt make a difference to me as I have not got a chance of winning main event. If I did I would be quite happy with the 10 million or so and the sponsorship deal that would follow. I think the thing that would make a difference to where I qualify would be how you treat your qualifiers while out there- a site that looks after its qualifiers with other things to do apart from just the poker is essential as I'm usually out on day 1 anyway :(

I think Full Tilt offered an extra 10 mill last year if one of their qualifiers won it.

With the news that Stars (and presumeably other sites that accept US players) are having to give out cash instead of buying people into the event it seems like numbers in the ME are going to be way down this year.

I was really hoping that the site I qualify on was going to give out cash but unfortunately they emailed yesterday to say they are buying us in :(

The Full Tilt thing is not all as it seems though.  From memory of reading the small print ages ago its a salary of $1m per year for 10 years during which you're signed up to promote Full Tilt on an exclusive basis.

If I were ever lucky enough to have to think about this, I'm not sure I'd want to automatically accept the cash on these terms.  There's a chance you could have better options available (who knows what the potential is?) and this effectively ties you in for a fairly long period of time.

That's correct. Plus you have to play 10 hours a week on FTP. Basically you're signing up to be Howard Lederer's bitch for ten years.
