Title: Golfing in Brighton - advice please. Post by: Mango99 on May 03, 2007, 01:59:45 PM Ey up.. Me and Dan "Lucky Scrote" Carter are going to be playing the GUKPT in Brighton. We're thinking of combining the poker malarky with some kind of golfing holiday...
So, I'm wondering, are they any nice municipal courses in Brighton? I'd like to play links if possible :) Handicaps: Me (28+), Carter (6). We might re-enact some kind of Ivey vs Vaswani challenge but for lower stakes lol... Anyone else play golf who is going to be playing the poker?.. The weather seems too good at the moment to spend all of it inside playing pokah!! Title: Re: Golfing in Brighton - advice please. Post by: Indestructable on May 03, 2007, 05:54:59 PM Not sure if i want the Poker daddy visiting any of the courses that i play at. ;)
If you don't mind travelling a bit further afield i would recommend the Seaford golf Course if only to play the 18th hole. www.seafordgolfclub.co.uk there is also a more hilly course inland at Devils Dyke www.dykegolf.com For cheap and cheerful www.benfieldgolf.com or it's more upmarket neighbour www.westhovegolfclub.co.uk or there is also the pitch & putt at Roedean :D Title: Re: Golfing in Brighton - advice please. Post by: Nakor on May 03, 2007, 06:03:36 PM West Hove is (or was) one of those courses every one should play once.
A tough 70 if memory serves with some great long drives and some excellent short holes. And its conditioning was always first rate. Facilities and staff also were very good - It got a massive 8.5 out of 10 in Naks book of golf 1998. Granted a lot can change in 10 years. Title: Re: Golfing in Brighton - advice please. Post by: Karabiner on May 03, 2007, 06:41:47 PM I believe that Littlehampton is the only links course in the area.
Plenty of nice courses though, Worthing is recommended as is Devil's Dyke. I'll be happy to join you if i qualify ;booder; Title: Re: Golfing in Brighton - advice please. Post by: Indestructable on May 03, 2007, 07:15:44 PM My plans for that weekend are a bit up in the air at the moment as Mrs Indy is in hospital for an op next Thursday. I am either going to spend some quality nursing time with her or playing loads of STT's while on call, but hope to get down to the venue at some point if poss.
