Title: Grosvenor Grand Prix Blue Square.com Qualifier Post by: tikay on October 07, 2005, 07:44:53 PM I just remembered - tonight is the LAST chance to qualify for the Grosvenor Grand Prix, online with Blue Square.com. With my Main PC "down", I cant load the site on my Lappie, but you oughta take a look & see if you can get qualified. At dinnertime (when my PC WAS working) they had 9 entries. Anyone here Multi-Task blonde Tourney & Blue Square? Getqualified, you'll regret it if you don't - we ALL gonna be at Walsall next weekend! Too late for the tourney now, but do i simply plug it in? No buttons to press, no settings to change?
Title: Re: Grosvenor Grand Prix Blue Square.com Qualifier Post by: 4dam on October 07, 2005, 09:40:17 PM i think you have to have a dial up account but they do pay as you go (1p per min ithink with freeserve sometimes pre installed on pc)
hope this helps Title: Re: Grosvenor Grand Prix Blue Square.com Qualifier Post by: tikay on October 07, 2005, 10:02:20 PM thanks 4Dam. I trired it, but no joy. Dunno what a dial-up account is. Title: Re: Grosvenor Grand Prix Blue Square.com Qualifier Post by: Newportlad on October 11, 2005, 05:54:06 PM There is a possibility that i might venture to the Grosvenor Cardiff on Thursday for one of the last Qualifiers.
However £110 to buy in is quite a lot of money to me. Is it realistically possible to qualify for the finals by playing it as a freezeout? The question im basically asking is, are most of the other players going to be playing it as a rebuy? What have fellow blondites found in previous qualifiers? Am i also correct in stating that you do not get any money back until the finals at the weekend? Does anyone know how far down the money will pay over the weekend? Title: Re: Grosvenor Grand Prix Blue Square.com Qualifier Post by: RED-DOG on October 11, 2005, 05:59:13 PM Most will play it as a re buy and you will be at a disadvantage if you play it as a freeze out, having said that it is a realistic possibility to qualify, remember, you don't have to win
There is talk of paying all players who return for the second day (unconfirmed) Title: Re: Grosvenor Grand Prix Blue Square.com Qualifier Post by: Karabiner on October 11, 2005, 06:02:22 PM In my qualifier last week at Walsall there were 50 runners.
The prize pool gathered was £!0,600, so roughly one rebuy was average. Prize money at Walsall for the finals: I would estimate either last two or three tables. Good luck ! Title: Re: Grosvenor Grand Prix Blue Square.com Qualifier Post by: ariston on October 11, 2005, 06:02:40 PM every player will be payed for qualifying red. In previous years the first 100 or so out get £100 or so to cover their buyin in effect (as long as they didnt have multiple rebuys).
Title: Re: Grosvenor Grand Prix Blue Square.com Qualifier Post by: RED-DOG on October 11, 2005, 06:23:35 PM Thanks Russ, didn't know that
Title: Re: Grosvenor Grand Prix Blue Square.com Qualifier Post by: Junior Senior on October 11, 2005, 07:51:26 PM EVERYBODY who qualifies for the finals on 15th & 16th gets their £100 back. - its a prize for qualifying. - so in effect you are in the event for nothing (unless you had several shots at qualifying or re-bought a lot).
I played 2 qualifiers and both times played them as freezeouts. - but now it is getting close to the finals (i.e. last few qualifiers to go) i expect people will become more desperate and will be playing the as re-buy comps. Hope that helps Title: Re: Grosvenor Grand Prix Blue Square.com Qualifier Post by: Newportlad on October 13, 2005, 05:55:41 PM Decided to give it a go tonight at the Cardiff qualifier
Will let you know the outcome later (hopefully much later). Title: Re: Grosvenor Grand Prix Blue Square.com Qualifier Post by: Newportlad on October 14, 2005, 01:59:55 AM Just got back from Grosvenor Cardiff.
30 runners gave 5 seats. Im playing it as a freezeout, and am quite worried at the start by how loose the play is. Fortunately i hit absolutely everything when i play a hand. I think i must have played about 10 hands and won 8 of them. As a result of this i have 17500 at the end of the rebuy period. I cant remember how many rebuys there were in total, but think it was in the region of 42. Anyway, play tightens up after the rebuy, as do my cards. I peak at 24500, but then lose about 8K with AJ vs KQ. Im unable to find any cards but make the final table with 12K. Blinds are now at about 1K/ 2K. Down to 6.5K i find qh jh and move all in. Get called by 9c 9s Flop 9h 6s 3h giving me a possible flush but i miss. Out in 7th place.... GUTTED! Ah well, maybe next year.. Title: Re: Grosvenor Grand Prix Blue Square.com Qualifier Post by: Robert HM on October 14, 2005, 02:02:21 AM Bad luck Newportlad, you and me next year!
