This is a hand i just played on BSQ 2-4 PLO, i am targeting the button who is very wild when this happens:

6 handed PLO:

UTG folds UTG+1 Raises to $8, you call in the next seat with  2h 3d 2c 4s, the button re-raises another $16, the BB and UTG+1 call so you call.

At this point the BB has $140 back and you have about $625. The button covers with about 1k.

The flop comes  Qh 3c 2d.

You all check to the button who bets $60 into the $98 pot, the BB now raises his $140 all in, you move in over the top for the full pot (570) the button now insta ships, eek! Another $50 goes into the pot.

$1500 pot

BB has Kc Qc 8h 7h


Button has Ad Qd Qs 4h

Come back when you've learnt how to play.  Everyone thinks they can play Omaha - they've seen Dave Colclough play  on telly, and think it's the same as holdem.  I give his bankroll a week, max.

shouldn't it be the other guy posting this? Against 2 players on this board you are likely to be against a wrap (which you a marginal favourite) and a bigger set (which your goosed against). I wonder how many peoples buddy alerts go off when you sit on an omaha table?

The button is a complete loon, he would be unlikely to pass top pair here.

erm a hand containing 456 or a45 has 12 outs twice v you- is that not marginal enough for you? Not saying it is correct to fold bottom set here but it wouldnt be a flop I liked getting it allin with (in fact I'd probably be thinking oh fk here we go).

you asked I answered. 60/40 is marginal favourite in my book (nearer to 55/45 if they have backdoor flush opportunites but why bother with odds). If you are up against a bigger set you can always hit your one outer I suppose. I love a player always willing to lump it in on bottom set no matter what as in the long run they stack off to you (ok you got lucky this time but even if I was the man with QQQ I would still be licking my lips and waiting for you to sit down again).

Like i said before the only reason i got invested was because of the activity of my opponent in the hand, he was a loon.

When deep, check/raising with medium/bottom set is often the best way to find out where you are imo. Though you shouldn't ever be playing the bottom sets unless you have other outs too. Notes notes and more notes on the players are a must too.

fair enough, I have several Italians and Greek players I wouldn't dream of laying bottom set down to but the problems arise when you have 2 opponents. And remember just because hes a lunatic it doesn't mean he doesn't have the hand- even a blind squirrel can find its nuts.

there are ceratin opponents in the games I play every day that I would drop 2nd set down to without worrying or reraising for information. Others I would be hard to fold top and bottom pair to. I have even been known to lay down top set on broken flops because I know exactly the hands I'm up against because of the action before me. Bottom set in omaha is a trick and if you continue to play it like you did in this hand James you will be marked down as a fish by the real players on the table (whereas its took quite a while for most on here to learn how much of a fish you are ;) )

yeah of course, the guy with 150 is a concern but its only $150.
