Title: Grand Prix De Paris: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on May 07, 2007, 03:20:27 AM Play starts at 4pm (3pm UK time).
Already spotted: Mark Teltscher Steve Zolotow Sorel Mizzi Jason Lester Paul Gourlay Mats Iremark Ram Vaswani Peter Gould Pascal Perrault Daniel Smits Bertelson Jan Boubli For interactive coverage, with the addition of pictures click: http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=23297.0 (http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=23297.0) Title: Re: Grand Prix De Paris: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on May 07, 2007, 03:34:09 PM Incredibly (well, not so over here I guess), we've had an all-in already, the two players pictured below somehow doing battle in a 30k+ pot.
I joined the action with the board reading 7s Js 8d 7h 5c and a chunk of chips scattered in the middle, plenty of yellow thousands too. Runasson Runar was all-in for 7,500 and the decision was down to the other chappy, Vikash Dhorasso, who didn't look too confident at all. As expected, he folded, but it's quite remarkable to see such action at such and early stage. Title: Re: Grand Prix De Paris: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: Djinn on May 07, 2007, 03:46:40 PM Hope fulfilled - a list has arrived, and today it's my pleasure to type it in for you:

Title: Re: Grand Prix De Paris: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: Djinn on May 07, 2007, 03:59:37 PM Thanks to Benjo for spotting this one - it's pretty good - Sorel Mizzi (who seems to be everywhere nowadays) against Fabrice Thuil... They see a Jd Jc 8h flop which Fabrice check-raises... Sorel calls. The turn and river are 3c 3h, so this is what gets the Ahrt Jh of Fabrice interested in paying off Sorel's ahead-all-the-way Js 8d...
Title: Re: Grand Prix De Paris: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: Djinn on May 07, 2007, 04:29:13 PM Reasonably big pot attracts the journalists (of whom there are just a handful, for a change) like big note-taking moths:
On the turn V. Troyanovskiy dwells after being check-raised to 3,100 by Nikolas Liakos (pictured, the one with cards in front of him) with the board standing 7h Ahrt Ks 2s. Eventually he calls. The river is the 2d. Nikolas checks, and there follows a very lengthy dwell from his in-position opponent, who eventually decides not to bet, effectively giving it up to Nikolas' Aspades Kc. Title: Re: Grand Prix De Paris: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: Djinn on May 07, 2007, 04:53:43 PM Yesterday's full chip counts, written up with special attention by Rolf Slotboom, and pinched with equal care by me:

Stephane Krausz :'( The opponent sending him to an early bath appears to be Vikash Dhorasso, as he now has just under 35k in front of him. Title: Re: Grand Prix De Paris: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on May 07, 2007, 05:29:57 PM Mark Teltscher -- 18,000

Troyanovskiy, and the mountain of chips in front of Peter Politis he must have met his demise in the last ten minutes. Peter's stack: 42,500, and the blinds are still only 50/100. That's 425 big blinds he has there.
Title: Re: Grand Prix De Paris: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: Djinn on May 07, 2007, 06:18:25 PM With one minute left of this level, I thought I'd get out of the way before they all head out to the bar etc. This means that I only had time to count two tables this level, so preoccupied was I with photoshopping Snoopy etc. Sorry.
Here are two, anyway: Table 5 Carlos Da Silva 19.650 Michel Cohen 15,925 Mark Teltscher 16,325 Alain Layani 19,100 Adolfo Vaeza 20,325 Herve Schoukroun 17,800 Yuri Kerzhapkin 24,700 Xavier Detournel 18,650 Eric Larcheveque 22,000 Table 6 Noel Gleans 33,800 Jason Lester 18,100 Guillaume Delta Gorce 15,600 Steve Zolotow 22,250 Patrick Schull 22,500 Sorel Mizzi 29,775 Henri Boutboul 12,600 Remy Biechel 1,950 Fabrice Touil 20,575 Title: Re: Grand Prix De Paris: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on May 07, 2007, 06:39:31 PM Alexandre Broca is gone, which means that we're down to 67 with blinds of 100/200.
Title: Re: Grand Prix De Paris: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on May 07, 2007, 06:55:00 PM Guillaume Darcourt has just eliminated Benjamin Scampini, Ad 9s vs. Ahrt 7h on a 4h Ac 9h Flop.
The heart-unfriendy 4 Turn and 3 River were of no use and Benjamin was understandably gutted. Title: Re: Grand Prix De Paris: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: Djinn on May 07, 2007, 07:03:22 PM More chip counts:

Heads up opponent Jeff Wallace bets out 1,500 on a Qh 8h 7h flop. He calls. Wallace then bets 3k on the Kc turn. Call. River: Qd Now it goes a slowish check-check - Jeff Wallace's 6h 6s no good against Ahrt Aspades... __________________________________ We have moved on to the table which has broken in the tournament area. Great! We feel like we're right in the middle of it, which we now are. On the left - a floorman shouting initials for the already heaving cash games, on the right a big pot between Vikash Dharasso and Eric Koskas: Caught this on the turn with the board: Tc 3s 9s 5d when Vikash had bet 6,000 into around an 8k pot. Eric was thinking...eventually he called. River: Th Eric checked, and received a check behind so fast it spoke quite a lot about how much Vikash liked that river... But Eric showed 7s 8s leaving the mighty 5c 3c in Dharasso's hand to take the pot with two pair, Tens and Fives... When I joined, the cards were on the back and the 8h 8d 5c Ts Js had been dealt out, Ram scooping the lot with Jh Jd versus Js 8c. Title: Re: Grand Prix De Paris: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: Djinn on May 07, 2007, 10:03:47 PM It looks like Jonathan Fhal is now out, and the internet crashed pre-dinner break before I could relate this hand - a stage in his demise:
A board of Jd 3c 9s 7h and Daniel Smits checked...Jonathan bet 4,200 - leaving himself just over 5k behind. Daniel moved all-in, covering him by a good margin. This was clearly not what he'd had in mind...a mutter of "putain!" and some of the angriest chip riffling I have ever seen later and he passed, giving the 7k+ pot to the young Danish player and now his seat is empty. Blinds are still just 100/200 ante 25... Title: Re: Grand Prix De Paris: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on May 07, 2007, 10:24:42 PM Down to 56, Farouk Bensalem sent to the sidlines by Stephane Lering.
----------- Adolfo Vaeza is also OUT, pushing on a 6h 8s Ts Flop with Ac Td but being picked off by Eric Larchveque's Ks Kh. Turn = 3s River = 5h Title: Re: Grand Prix De Paris: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: Djinn on May 07, 2007, 10:56:08 PM Stephane Lering -- 28,600 Wow, that was literally seconds for the bok to kick in - he was all-in against Jan Boubli with 9s 9h on a Tc 5c 4s flop just now - in poor shape against Jan's 5h 5s. The turn and the river didn't make a difference and a huge pot (55k or so) makes its way down the table Mr. Boubli. Title: Re: Grand Prix De Paris: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: Djinn on May 07, 2007, 11:06:23 PM Meanwhile David Redling is up to around 50k himself after his Kc Ks got all in against the Jh Jd of M. Kagawa. A low, mainly club board knocked the latter down to just 2,625 while bumping the former up to a table-leading stack.
--------- H Kakoun is OUT and has inevitably headed towards the "I'm out of the Main Event" cash games. Title: Re: Grand Prix De Paris: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: Djinn on May 07, 2007, 11:54:10 PM Blinds up to 200/400 ante 25.
We have heard that this will be the last level played today, so that's an hour and a half... ___________________________________ Double through for Patric Martensson courtesy of Henri Boutboul. I am going to assume that Henri raised preflop and Patric called in position, for the time being, but you really never know... Anyway, flop: 3s 7s 2s - this was where semi-short-stacked Patric raised all-in, and it was called - his 8s 8d on their backs before Henri counted out the 8k or so and called, with Ac Ahrt. The turn brought the 9s and the pot was already sliding over towards Martensson... he reacted with the same apparent indifference as usual (pictured here right after doubling through), while Boutboul was clearly a little chagrined but not at the table-banging stage quite yet. All-in for his last 5k on a board of Qs 3c Qh Kc, he was swiftly called by Vivian Anseline. "Have you got a Queen?" pleaded a concerned Witowski, simultaneously reluctant to reveal his cards until knowing where he stood. Without answering verbally, Vivian turned over Qc Jh, dominating James' Qd 8h. "Seven!" calls Vivian. Spookily, and rather suspiciously, the River bring the 7s. "Almost an Eight," says Deeb. "It's not fair, he's psychic," shouts an onlooker. Title: Re: Grand Prix De Paris: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on May 08, 2007, 01:01:27 AM Georges Tervol -- 12,625
