I've just bought one of these, is there anyway of transferring the music on Itunes to it? Otherwise it looks like I have to burn it to CD first and then transfer it from the CD. Any thoughts?

Why I'd never use itunes (or any of the current crop of music download sites) - you can't do what you want to with your music.

Also the songs they sell tend to be of a lower audio quality than the ones you can download for free.

I have limewire Pro - but didnt cost me $18 ;)

i use basic and its gd enough but i bet the premium service is worth its money, would be much quicker and you get access to more tunes.

do share as that is the idea of limewire anyway isnt it!

Would be ironic if they got annoyed at people sharing the pro client on limewire though.

I have a walman phone, what you want to do is, transfer the music file from Itunes to the sony sofware you got with the phone, then simply use it to convert the format.

Its that easy.

how do you transfer it? I notice about 20% of the songs have appeared in the sony software automatically when I installed it. How how do I transfer the rest over?

In the software, select the file folder from your C drive that holds your musis files, from there just marke the ones to transfer and hit the transfer button.

Just to add limewire is probably the worst of the P2P software out there, slow and full of adware (the host software), and loads of viruses/trojans in the catalogue.
I use shareaza, you get all the networks and no adware.

Ok I thnk i know what the problem is. When I look at the music I have stored in my music folder, some of the individual songs/albums have been allocated with Realplayer as the file type. The one that the sony software does not pick up are the songs that have not been allocated a file type and I have to select realplayer when I open them. How do I sort this out? Even after I have opened them with realplayer the sony software still does not want to accept the music.

TBF its not the worst, Warez is the most annoying,virus invsted piece of crap P2P one!

I am pretty sure the PRO version "checks" for nasties and does not let them onto your PC

Download as straight MP3 files to whatever folder you want, then click and drag onto phone memory.
I wouldn't touch Itunes with yours though lol.

Idea of prices- new Manic Street Preachers album is $1.67 at 192Kbs quality (default), so about 84p.
It is charged by the size, you cab also download single tracks off albums to make your own best of compilations.
Good catalogue too.

The biggest problem with allofmp3 is that it isn't actually legal.

It has a nice service otherwise, no DRM, allowing you to choose the format you get your music in etc etc.
