2s 3s 4s 5s 6s 7s 8s Ks Aspades 8c 8d 8h Kd Kc Kh 15 x 2 = 30% not far off 2/1 worth a punt early doors i'd say Title: Re: straight flush draw Post by: Royal Flush on May 13, 2007, 08:18:38 PM do I count about 1000 in the pot? 2s 3s 4s 5s 6s 7s 8s Ks Aspades 8c 8d 8h Kd Kc Kh 15 x 2 = 30% not far off 2/1 worth a punt early doors i'd say 15/46 32.6% You are already nicely stacked so gamboooool Title: Re: straight flush draw Post by: barhell on May 13, 2007, 08:19:58 PM with 3000 chips if you lose your back to staring chips and 5th hand so your not risking everything call for me
Title: Re: straight flush draw Post by: AdamM on May 13, 2007, 08:21:48 PM if me and flushy both think call it must be. not cause we're always right, but because we're totally polarised style wise
Title: Re: straight flush draw Post by: Ironside on May 13, 2007, 08:34:40 PM i called i thought the same as you guys i actually had more outs than i thought as he had the Asp and the Tc
4 times people called my raises and then pushed all in on flop or turn i noticed this alot last night too i havent been playing much online recently but is this a new tatic? i mean pushing in with 2nd pair after i have reraised on the flop and him having the Asp he must of known he wasnt in great shape Title: Re: straight flush draw Post by: barhell on May 13, 2007, 08:36:55 PM what was the end result?
Title: Re: straight flush draw Post by: Ironside on May 13, 2007, 08:43:32 PM i missed
his 2nd pair held up and i sort of gave up on playing poker dispite hitting my set of 3s v kk and getting and other double up i really am not enjoying playing at the moment i might give it a rest for another couple of weeks Title: Re: straight flush draw Post by: NoflopsHomer on May 13, 2007, 08:49:36 PM If he's that bad Iron, I'd think about just flat-calling on the flop.
Title: Re: straight flush draw Post by: Ironside on May 13, 2007, 08:59:38 PM it was 4th hand i had no idea what sort of player he was
Title: Re: straight flush draw Post by: Gordon McMahon on May 14, 2007, 02:14:29 PM I see, I see, it's OK - good play even - for Ironside to gamboooooool, according to the pundits here. So, pray explain why it is "bad play" for his opponent to gambooooool ? At least the opponent had a hand which had an odds-on chance of winning. (65% unless you count the extra outs known after the event, even then still over 60%). Don't see how calling with only a 35% chance of winning can be good play - the pot was barely offering 2-1. You see - it is possible to make a post without inane smilies and other graphics.

personally my post was more about the pushing in on the turn after calling a reraise on flop i actually find it a very weak play and has gotten me a number of double ups Title: Re: straight flush draw Post by: Royal Flush on May 14, 2007, 02:33:00 PM I see, I see, it's OK - good play even - for Ironside to gamboooooool, according to the pundits here.
