Title: Poker Week this week visits Gala Nottingham Post by: tikay on May 17, 2007, 11:36:03 AM So at last we got the Cameras into Gala Notts for the GBPT, & it must be said, they looked after the TV crew like royalty, everything was "comped" for us, & they gave us free access whever we wanted. The Final included a bunch of blondes, & Compo got some nice interviews with many of them. Non-Finalists were luckier, they got interviewed by Rhowena, & included Thewy, Barny Boatman, Joe Beevers, & the rotund Iwan Jones. Our planned external filmed shoots around Nottingham were pretty much washed out, the rain was relentless & heavy all day, though Compo eventually dragged me outside & we did some stuff by a Robin Hood statue while I got drenched, & Compo waffled on. We also have the regular Poker School, & Celebrity Tuition. Scheduled airings are... 11pm this evening, Sky Sports Xtra. 3am Friday, Sky Sports Xtra 10.30 am Friday, Sky Sports Xtra 1pm Friday, Sky Sports 3. Sky Poker from Friday, every day, for 7 days, 2.30pm & 8.30pm. Oh, & without meaning to stir, we had some spoon problems...... Title: Re: Poker Week this week visits Gala Nottingham Post by: tikay on May 17, 2007, 12:44:40 PM Oh, & I forgot to add, we show an Exclusive Interview with one Jeffrey Pollack, who resides in the splendid title of "Commissioner, World Series of Poker". (His card gives his address as "One, Ceasers Palace Drive, Las Vegas".....) Extraordinay American gentleman - likes trains - & was at one time the Commissioner for NASCAR, & he "drove" Nascar forward to great success. He discusses the upcoming WSOP, &, the WSOP-E, which comes to London in September. Gotta love Mr Pollack's suit, too! We interviewed him last Wednesday at the 50 Club, in St James. Not a bad little gaffe...... Title: Re: Poker Week this week visits Gala Nottingham Post by: TightEnd on May 17, 2007, 01:16:43 PM and before that Mr Pollack, Anglophile, train lover, sharp dressed man, was commissioner for the NBA and is widely reckoned to be a future commissioner for Major League Baseball.
When I went to "50" I spent days recovering from a tour of the gaming floor ...minimum bet per number on roulette £100, max £25,000. Never let it be said that those who seek to preserve the oligopoly status quo (and deny several thousand people the right to access the club they've joined) don't recognise the benefit of tossing a few sarnies in the direction of hungry media people. ;whistle; Title: Re: Poker Week this week visits Gala Nottingham Post by: ripple11 on May 18, 2007, 08:38:48 PM Missed Thursdays showing,.....so tuned in tonight on Sky Poker at 8.30......and their showing Cardiff again??....guess someone pushed the wrong button..pls have a word Tikay!
