Title: So we're not all supermodels but......
Post by: Dingdell on May 17, 2007, 10:23:02 PM
Firstly I should say that this is not a man bashing thread!

The threads have been very emmotive recently about how much you guys like looking at good looking women and that looks are your main criteria when choosing a girlfriend.  Research shows that looks are not the main criteria when women are choosing a man.

Amazingly, as much as men rate looks as their first criteria, not everyone manages to marry Cindy Crawford etc so in reality there must be something you like about us non Cindy women apart from the fact we are 'available'.

Just to humour us and reassure us that even if we're not supermodels we can have your love and admiration, tell us what you like about normal women - please......  :dontask:

Kindness and she must be nice to animals .  My conversation generally involves sport so I am no expert there, so she must like talking about sport, movies, etc  :D.  I fall asleep when the conversation turns to Eastenders or some other crap soap

I went to college with a supermodel type girl,  she was very pretty but she was hard to talk to.  Her appearance was great, but I would much prefer talking to a nice person rather than a pretty face in all honesty.  She also said " I hate dogs, they are dirty things ".  She went down to a grade 9 purely for those 7 words, lol

My most attractive date was with a stunning Blonde  ;kev; and to be honest i had no idea how or why she was with me and I was clearly batting above my average. Having said that it was the most boring date of my life.  ;sleep;

As for Mrs Inde one of her main qualities is that she has the ability to listen to a bad beat story and look interested.

I'm looking for someone who can cook to a reasonable standard, keep the house tidy and make sure my dinner is ready for me coming home from work.  Preferably someone who has a driving licnese and doesn't drink so they can chauffer me without feeling put out!   ;surrender;

Good sense of humour, Fun and something in common helps.

I agree DTD girl images shouldnt be on every page reason why I post here is that the forum is the best on the web and I like the fact that there is a healthy mix of forum posters from all genders ages and poker playing ability.

Tough call for you moderators as DTD is a significant sponsor now of Blonde.

My vote would be to tone down the ads or limit them to  the home page.

She would think that I was strong, brave, clever, funny and handsome.

I would think that she was beautiful, intelligent, gentle, desirable and sexy.

The truth wouldn't matter.

Just have to be honest before i reply, i have had migraine tonight so had to go to bed about 10, YES 10!!!! And took some powerful pain killers, i have just woken up from weird dream which included the band the killers and the famous tv star that is indestructable, and a school!!! and none of it involved any man on man so no need for insinuations!!

As for women do you wanna know what i really look for in woman? That she tolerates me!!! Im not the easiest person as im always on the wind up and my kaz has learnt just to be with me and ignore everything i say which is great.
And another big factor is that she can put up with my mates, she can hold her own in the banter stakes and that makes me very proud of kaz.
She must be funny, i dont give a shit whether she is a supermodel but if she is a thick and humourless as a set of wardrobes then im not interested.
She must like planes and boats, im a bit of a tk with them and if i had the money would seriously just travel places all the time and it wouldn be to get somewhere as for me the best part of the holiday is the flight, the bit in another country is just something i have to get through till i can be on a plane up in the air again!!!!
Another thing is SEXY, this doesnt mean they have to be skinny and have perfect everythings, i just mean they feel that they are sexy and happy with themselves, such a turn off when a woman is too insecure!!

Im just lucky kaz is drop dead goreous aswell as all the things above, well she doesnt like boats but im using some pretty serious covert psycholocical techniques to bring her round on that for the summer!!!!!

But the one true thing that men find irresistable.

Is a women that wants to rip your clothes off and make you smile lots

As long as she doesn't do it to any other men though.

Title: Re: So we're not all supermodels but......
Post by: dino1980 on May 18, 2007, 04:16:08 AM
I actually don't think most men know what we're looking for, but once we've found it we know that we've found it and do our best not to let it go ( although we try to mess it up for a while). For instnace I prefer brunettes but know for sure i've dated more blondes than brunettes.

I'm a firm believer that most men and women fall into the 'normal' catorgory you've got that 10-20% on either side that are out of this world, think Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie etc but for most of us it's all about finding that special someone who as Indescrutible puts it 'within our batting avg!' More  improtantly it's about finding that someone special who also thinks the same of you.

Well said that man, & that's also why I loathed the "Who's the hottest player?" thread with a vengeance.

that thread was a lighthearted bit of fun.

i take it when you say you loathed the thread because beauty involves different things than model looks then you didnt like the idea of some of us voting on or rating the looks of female players.

if you feel so strongly on this subject why dont you remove the banners of the models in skimpy catsuits on the website ?

they adverts are hardly trying to attract customers due to the software or customer service  are they ?

or am i missing something ?

This sums it up for me................

The Good Housewife
The following is excerpted from an actual 1950's high school Home Economics textbook:

ADVANCE: How to be a Good Wife
HAVE DINNER READY: Plan ahead, even the night before, to have a delicious meal--on time. This is a way to let him know that you have been thinking about him and are concerned with his needs. Most men are hungry when they come home, and having a good meal ready is part of the warm welcome that is needed.

PREPARE YOURSELF: Take fifteen minutes to rest so that you will be refreshed when he arrives. He has just been with a lot of work-weary people. Be a little gay and a little more interesting. His boring day may need a lift. Greet him with a smile.

CLEAR AWAY THE CLUTTER: Make one last trip though the main part of the house just before your husband arrives, gathering up children's books and toys, papers, etc. Then run a dust cloth over the tables. Your husband will feel he has reached a haven of rest and order, and it will give you lift too.

PREPARE THE CHILDREN: If they are small, wash their hands and faces and comb their hair. They are his little treasures and he would like to see them playing the part.

MINIMIZE ALL NOISE: At the time of his arrival, eliminate all noise from the washer, dryer, or vacuum. Encourage the children to be quiet.

SOME "DO NOT'S": Don't greet him with problems and complaints. Don't complain if he is late for dinner. Count this as a minor problem compared to what he might have gone through that day.

MAKE HIM COMFORTABLE: Have a cool or warm drink ready for him. Have him lean back in a comfortable chair or suggest that he lie down in the bedroom. Arrange his pillow and offer to take off his shoes. Speak in a low, soothing voice. Allow him to relax and unwind.

LISTEN TO HIM: You may have a dozen things to tell him, but the moment of his arrival is not the time. Let him talk first.

MAKE THE EVENING HIS: Never complain if he doesn't take you to dinner or to other entertainment. Instead, try to understand his world of strain and pressure and his need to unwind and relax.

THE GOAL: TO MAKE YOUR HOME A PLACE OF PEACE AND ORDER WHERE YOUR HUSBAND CAN RELAX IN BODY AND SPIRIT.

tell us what you like about normal women - please......

Ok monkey's take on the theories of life (though please note due to being single may not be strictly 100% accurate).

A man has certain criteria that a women (or man) needs to meet so that he will find himself attracted to her be that physical / mental etc (and visa versa).

Each man will have different criteria to satisfy than the next man.

A man will choose his companion because he feels that they satisfy his criteria as much as possible better than anyone else.

Therefore his companion is not "normal" because he/she is better than everyone else in certain ways.

This makes everyone unique in their own special way and no-one can be describes as "normal"

:)

"The certified loon"

Well, being a gentleman, I wouldn't let her beliitle herself in such a way on a first date  ;angel;

And that's also where the other things come into play.

When I was a young flatbelly, I had ( more than ) my fair share of choice of ladies, and tbh I made the most of my chances.

But when I met my current ( only ) beloved she was out of my league in the looks department, so I relied on all my best chatting up techinques and skill.  ( Ok, we were at a party & I kept plying her with booze - a technique that still works to this very day  :) ) and she still can't shake me off, 15 years on.

I still enjoy smiling.

( I have to mention, though, that over the period of a couple of years, many of 'the lads' settled down, and most of them wouldn't swap with me, even though I though their girls were rough as hell in comparison with my beauty.  But then, they were smiling a lot at the time as well ).

Well a comment like that makes us ladies as superficial as the blokes.  David Gest was by far the most interesting, funny character on I'm a Celebrity so why wouldn't she go for him?

I agree he was the most amusing character on I'm a celebrity but that wasnt hard. He is also very rich and the most arrogant t*@t by far that I have seen profiled on TV in a long time.

The show thats on at the mo shows his true colours and im sure thats edited. He treats the hotel staff and everyone around him like sh*t. What makes him so special that he can do that?

Saying that...Malandra is very pretty (and yes I think shes golddigging) but OMG she has the most annoying laugh ive ever heard.

So good luck to them both.
