Title: Re: blade runner Post by: Ironside on May 18, 2007, 02:46:07 AM what film?
Title: Re: blade runner Post by: Bainn on May 18, 2007, 02:59:56 AM WHAT FILM ? ! ? ! ? ! ?
The seminal sci-fi film from 1982, an absolute classic, prefer the original theatrical release to the Directors cut, Harrison Ford's voice over pieces certainly set the tone of the film for me. Title: Re: blade runner Post by: Ironside on May 18, 2007, 03:29:00 AM was it any good?
Title: Re: blade runner Post by: Newmanseye on May 18, 2007, 04:51:02 AM Awesome!!!

Title: Re: blade runner Post by: fearisthekey on May 18, 2007, 10:39:46 AM gets better with reviewing, music and cinematography are amazing. you need to be in the mood for it a bit, classic though.

Title: Re: blade runner Post by: fearisthekey on May 18, 2007, 10:47:25 AM don't touch the PC point and click adventure though :( :( I thought it was a very good game! also, had problems with the diner, couldn't find the way to the chef :( :( nice graphics for its day, but I seemed to be going round in circles. "Do welsh bots dream of electric sheep?" roflmao Title: Re: blade runner Post by: fearisthekey on May 18, 2007, 10:49:31 AM Grim demo:
http://www.gamershell.com/download_4674.shtml which won 'Best Game' the year Half Life came out, no mean feat... review: http://uk.gamespot.com/pc/adventure/grimfandango/review.html "The one real problem with Grim Fandango is that the end comes too soon. This isn't because it's too short (it should take most a good two- to three-dozen hours), but because the designers have created a rich world that you won't want to leave, filled with memorable characters that are hard to say goodbye to. Don't be surprised if you're sad when it's over." Not a hit-and-hope-point-and-click. Plays like a film. Title: Re: blade runner Post by: snoopy1239 on May 18, 2007, 02:23:52 PM Will these still play on today's desktops though?
I can't get Monkey Island nor Discworld to work on my laptop because they are too old. Title: Re: blade runner Post by: JungleCat03 on May 18, 2007, 02:47:32 PM Great film. Seminal, ground-breaking, thought provoking....for once all the gushing film critique cliches apply.
Most of the adaptations of Philip K Dick's stories have been translated well into film....Blade Runner, Total Recall, Minority Report etc. Put a great director like Ridley Scott in charge, a well written script and Harrison Ford on top form and all the ingredients for a classic were there. Philip K Dick has such a huge body of work that there are lots of other great films out there to be made in the future. Hooray! Title: Re: blade runner Post by: fearisthekey on May 18, 2007, 03:24:21 PM Will these still play on today's desktops though? this one works fine on my machine, snoopy. I can't get Monkey Island nor Discworld to work on my laptop because they are too old. Title: Re: blade runner Post by: Compo on May 18, 2007, 03:52:31 PM WHAT FILM ? ! ? ! ? ! ? The seminal sci-fi film from 1982, an absolute classic, prefer the original theatrical release to the Directors cut, Harrison Ford's voice over pieces certainly set the tone of the film for me. The two are totally different in the treatment of the Harrison Ford character. The Directors cut is a far more thought provoking version while the original was hacked by the studio pre-release. Title: Re: blade runner Post by: Zebediah on May 18, 2007, 04:25:30 PM Great film, but what it has to do with welsh robots I have never figured out.

Title: Re: blade runner Post by: fergus8 on May 18, 2007, 04:32:34 PM loved the point and click, discworld noir was prob my fave, followed by bladerunner.
i had grim fandango but couldnt get into it as much, prob to hard, monkey island was not bad Title: Re: blade runner Post by: Bongo on May 18, 2007, 04:39:41 PM You can get Beneath A Steel Sky and Flight of the Amazon Queen for free (legally) here:
http://www.scummvm.org/downloads.php I think you can also use Scumm to get Monkey Island working if you want too. Title: Re: blade runner Post by: fearisthekey on May 18, 2007, 05:32:10 PM Great film, but what it has to do with welsh robots I have never figured out. BladeRunner was loosely based on the novel "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" by Philip K. Dick. The answer is, of course, 'only the welsh ones'. Title: Re: blade runner Post by: bhoywonder on May 18, 2007, 10:42:26 PM its a bit dated now
