About Wi-Fi safety concerns.

Sitting in the middle of a Wi-fi hotspot for a year gives you the same radiation as using a mobile phone for 20 minutes. The range that a Wi-fi hotspot operates over is much shorter than that of mobile phone masts so they run at much lower power, so I have absolutely no idea how they managed to get a figure of three times stronger than a mobile phone mast - they must have a huge error in their methodology somewhere.

Stupid scare story.

this scare story was in the independent a few weeks ago, with a huge front page headline - the story ran with no stats, no facts, - nothing. It wouldnt have looked out of place in the Star.

Even if the '3 x' part is true, the amount they measured is still safe. So another way of presenting the story would be -"Wi-fi is completely safe, and mobiles are even safer". Strange how they decide not to go for that angle.

Panorama is nothing more than tabloid journalism these days...a complete waste of License fee money.

OK, I've had a poke about and seen where they messed up.

The measured the Wi-Fi radiation one metre from the transmitter, and the mobile phone radiation 100 metres from the mast. And, get this, found that the Wi-Fi radiation was stronger.

That's like putting your hand 6 inches from a candle and 50 feet from a bonfire and coming to the conclusion that the candle is emitting more heat.

Idiots.

Shit, mine is at arms reach and I've had a really bad headache all day.  Thought it was the bad beat I took in the Mansion 100k but now I know the truth.  I could move my equipment downstairs and not 'fry my brain' but I'm on Sky and have to reboot the router every five minutes.  Christ, I'll probably have a heart attack running up and down stairs.  I know, I'll make like Kev and start eating healthier to reduce the risk of cardiac arrest.  That's it, vegetables and oily fish.  All that brain food stuff will no doubt sharpen the vestigial bit of healthy cerebral tissue I've got left, turning me into the new Le Cerveau.
Yeah baby, I'm gonna take that 100k apart tomorrow and book my WSOP seat.  Look out Vegas here I come.  But what if the flight ditches mid-Atlantic?  No need to panic, I saw that documentary about surviving plane crashes and at school got the coveted 50 metre swimmimg badge and saved a brick from drowning whilst wearing pyjamas.  Then again knowing my luck all this global warming will find a Great White holidaying off the Galway coast and, smelling the Omega 3's eminating from my pores, decide to introduce himself by circumcising me just above the waste.  Think I'll leave the router where it is.....

Although you're more likely to have a candle in a classroom than a bonfire...

i used to like the news, but the storylines are not as good, characters are flimsey, cliffhangers galore dillutes the excitement and fave characters killed off, such as trevor mac.

dont know how many seasons the news has had,but surely its days are numbered, too many regurgatations week in week out. if the news was on cbs or nbc,or any other american network, it would be scraped after half a season.
