Blinds 800/1600. I have around 8k there are 23 players left top 10 are paid. Avg 16k 7 handed folded round to me on the button. The BB has gone for a piss. The SB has about 1k fewer chips than me. While I feel any raise may be an obvious steal, I don't think he is the kind of player who will call without a decent hand. Maybe A7+ a pair or KQ KJ. I am dealt  3d 2c. What's your move? Obv I pushed and got called and killed by AK. Currently I think my play was correct. Agree or not?

I would've pushed there too.

The above suggests he will only look you up on the rare occasions he finds a hand, so pushing is great and you'll pick up the blinds easily often enough to be profitable. I think he'll probably call a bit wider than that range (any ace JQ sooted etc) but you were at his table and are best placed to work this out.

The range you give is 16.7% of hands so 83.3% of the time u get the blinds, 16.7% of the time he calls and you have 27.094% equity against his range.

so you will have 10400 83.3% of the time, when he folds, 17600 when he calls and you win (4.52% of the time), and 0 when he calls and you lose (12.17% of the time.)

This averages out at 9458, a gain of 1458 chips, nice +EV move when shortstacked.

I made a similar move short handed once just crept onto the money and pushed using my image with the might that is 72 os....

SB called badly in my opinion with A7os
