blonde poker forum

To the moderators,

do you reckon it would be good to have a chatroom in place in some form on blonde poker? personally i think it would be good as you can catch up on a more personal basis with other blondeites. Just a thought, i may aswell do a poll i guess that will see if people like the idea.

i thought it would be a good idea untill i saw the chatroom that we had open during the last forum meltdown

too fast and you got to keep reading it too keep uptodate

not like the forum where you can go play your hand and come back without missing anything

this is true, also of course it will deflect custom from the forum.

i just thought it would be a nice idea to run alongside the forum. Not a massive thing but just for keeping some peeps from boredom at 5 in the morning!

well the one Ironside mentioned got a bit, erm, rude at times and not exactly in keeping with the bosses view of blonde related stuff and to moderate is impossible at such pace

actually i think it would be a good idea, not ness. a chat room, but more of a private chat facility, where for instance say me and ironside wanted to chat we could have an instant chat along side/via blonde, that only he and i could read?

Only an option/idea, as Tikay says, we are trying to come up with exciting new things for the forum, and i think this could be good?

How about simply using an IRC room?

I use QuakeNet extensively for various activities, keeping in touch with old friends, gaming clans and what-not. IRC provides the facility to chat in various rooms and also the ability to send private messages.

If anyone feels like chatting, download yourself a copy of mIRC, or find a web client of which google would probably be a great help, join the Quakenet network, channel #blondepoker

my gut is a chatroom is unnecessary, the thing about the forum is you see brilliant daft threads evolve as people contribute and sometimes they go on for ages.
thats because its one forum and we all use it.

having a chatroom might dilute that as people split off to use that instead of retaining the focus on forum.

using pm`s or messaging already exists for private communication and catch up with any blondites you want to have a decent gab with.

It would be fun for having specific chat times, say Sunday 8pm <g>, but to have it all the time would detract, and you would get one sad soul in there for ages waiting for people to come in.

If it was for specific chats, then it would be ok - but not open all the time.

In terms of it getting rude etc., you'd either have to have a disclamier, or get tools to allow people to be delat with if they got a bit too OTT.

I guess if people wanted to use a facility like this then they'd just sign on to msn.

Personally, I just don't like the idea of people veering away from the forum.

I thought it was Blondites, I have always been careful with my spelling snuppy.

Chat room? I would say no because we would loose an awful lot from the forum, it would be sad to see some of the replies disappearing into the ether and never to be seen again. OK we have a lot of small talk around the threads but, to many, that is the joy of Blonde, please don't loose that. When the site went down a while ago we did have a lot of fun in the room but there were quips and retorts which should have been embalmed and kept, but couldn't.

If you really really want to have a private chat set up MSN.

fair do's, the poll says half and half but by looking at people's points i think maybe it was a bad idea! lol

maybe something for the future :)
