Title: Audio/video editing techie help Post by: henrik777 on June 06, 2007, 11:17:24 PM Does anyone know of an easy way to take a video file strip the music out and add some pictures to make a new video file ?
Want to make a video/slideshow against the canadian anthem from http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FT67_GjRVbI and use some photos of the leaving night for 2 Canadians who leave next week. I already have the video as a divx file and a flv file. Thanks to anybody who is clever enough to help. You want to use the audio from an existing video file as the soundtrack to a completely new video you are making which is made of of a picture slideshow? If that's wrong you'll need to correct me obviously! I would use windows movie maker, I just made a picture slideshow of my mates in funny photos with the Danger Zone as the soundtrack. It was ridiculously easy. All you have to do is drag the photos onto it, drag the music onto it, choose which transition animation you like the look of and your done. Of course you can edit the lenght each photo is on for etc to match the music and you can also trim the audio if you need to as well. The only sticking point you have now is... you need to extract the audio from the video. Possible, I'm not sure how to handle youtubes .flv files, I'd try this site I found http://vixy.net/ (not used this site at all, just came up on google) to convert it to .avi and you should be able to drag the video to the audio level on the timeline in movie maker to use just the audio and not the video. You may or may not have windows movie maker already on your PC, but version 2.1 is free to download if you have a genuine copy of windows. Good luck. That is pretty much what i want to do. I have riva flv converter so getting it to a .avi should be easy enough. The trouble i had was i couldn't split the audio from the existing video. Will give it a shot though. Cheers Sandy Title: Re: Audio/video editing techie help Post by: RichEO on June 07, 2007, 03:15:30 AM May have sent you on a little red-herring there. Windows movie maker will do the pictures in the slideshow very nicely. But it crashes when I try and add a movie as the soundtrack. So I found this freeware that will extract the audio from a video http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html Once you have it as an mp3 (or whatever format you want) it's simple to add it as a soundtrack, I promise :)up
