Post by: Cybertim on June 07, 2007, 01:21:11 PM
Hi guys.  I need a couple  (well 10) poker quiz questions but heres the thing.  I am looking for the kind of questions that need a bit of working out.

here is the kind of thing I am looking for (and yes I got it from here years ago)  ;)

Ok holdem game Five players first hand.. here are the starting hands. IF all players go all in and have the same number of chips who is the most likely to win the hand and win the game

Player one    Aspades  Kh

player two  7h  2c

player 3  Ad  Ac

player 4  Kc  Ks

player 5  Ahrt  Kd

That kind of thing.      hope you guys can help. please post them on here or pm me.  (oh and I need the answers too) hehe

btw  its great to back and I will see you all in the league games   woooohooooooooooooo

2) A man walks into the middle of the desert, and sees the five of spades, he then turns around, walks 500 metres, and sees the Queen of diamonds.  If he turns around and walks 300 metres, what card will he see?

Sherrif had a load of those types of questions in the blonde bash quiz - I think he posted them all somewhere....

here they are.  It's poker, casino games and gambling, but you might be able to pull a few of them out to use.  The answers are on the last page of the thread:

Heads up, pre-flop which hand is favourite to win (if all five board cards are seen)?

Depends which site you are playing.

If its Blondepoker, is Kev involved in the hand and does he have the QJ or 55?

;D

Very valid point.  Needs a caveat in there somewhere!

HU, on the turn Player A is in the lead,  But he can at best only split the pot on the river. Name the hands of player a and player b.

player A: 3c 4d
player B:  2s 3d

Ahrt Aspades Kd Kc (or any two overpairs without straight draws)

EDIT - no that doesn't work either.  I give up.

Bolts correct I think,  Matt was first to get the question right before I think

the AA and KK would be a split pot regardless, not split at best for player A.

unless the river is a 2 or 3, then player A wins :)

Not if there was a 2 or 3 on the river.

looks good to me Kin - you just need to swap round the starting cards between player A and player B.

Edit - where did it go!?!?!  This was in reply to the correct answer which has wandered off  - not the one above my post now!

player a had Mr Bun the baker and Mrs Bacon the butcher's wife

player b had Master Hose the fireman's son and Miss Bacon the butcher's daughter

the board reads Master Bun, Mr Bacon, Miss Constable and Mrs Hose.

Which ever card comes on the end now it gives player b a bigger full house and an extra £33.80 in child support payments!

too easy, next!!

What is the worst ranking of hand ( for example a royal flush is the best) in hold em that is the nuts after the river?

In omaha what are the 3 ways a player can hold the nuts after the river with starting hand  9d 3d 3h 3s?

Editted for clarity

Nuts as in you are the only winner and the pot can't be split?

that could be any hand where you hit quads with one hole card (i.e. 7 2 with a board of 222 xx (where x and x are not a pair).

are we looking for a hand where both hole cards are used?

I might have misinterpreted the question incorrectly.  But three of a kind with queens was the lowest ranking hand that i could find that I know I have the nuts on the river.

Is that not what the question was?  The answer is probably wrong anyway!!! ;D  (I guess the 9 could be an 8 to give me a lower kicker...)

You have a straight, which ranks higher than a set in my book!

You've gone for the lowest starting hand, I've gone for the lowest 5-card hand at the end.

Yeah thats the right answer  Qc Qd on a  Qs  8h  7d  3s  2h the ranking of this being three of a kind queens with 8 7 kicker. Is the nuts on this board. If you try it with 3 jacks, you will always end up with a straight possible.

I really am terrible at phrasing questions.
