I heard on one of my monkeyvines that they are giving the job to Ed - rumour has it that they were looking for someone who's a man city fan, been in the spotlight under pressure and had plenty of TV exposure.............

Might be a while before he appears in any of your online books though - but dont forget where you heard it first ;)

I could certainly do a better job than Chris Coleman! The rumour mill is that it will still definitely be a foreign manager, although I guess as Coleman is Welsh he might scrape in.  :dontask:

As for me, I would be delighted to accept.  ;sark;

If someone did the following would you consider it wrong or a stroke of genius?
Go on betfair and back Koeman to be next manager at approx 60/1 (price available on Thursday). Go on a couple of fans forums and post a "sighting" of Ronald at citys stadium Friday morning. Wait for rumours to spread and local bookies after taking a few bets slash the price of Koeman to 2/1. The story gathers pace and the price on Betfair plummets. Go on betfair and lay plenty of 5/1 Koeman.

happens all the time

execpt they get a few mates to try and put on large bets at different bookies

the bookies only take small bets for this type of market but slash the price

when people see the price getting slashed they all pile on

meanwhile the rampers lay off there bets

money talks in thee markets where there is no real info

its a case of getting on some outsiders that a case could be made for early

then hoping they get ramped as i was lucky with koeman

i aint got the bottle to be mega sucessfull at this though i could of gotten 3 or 4 times the amount i did laying koeman in the end

Hmmm. Seems someone has taken to manipulate the Chris Coleman market as it's happening right now over at the likes of Bet365 (who've suspended the market) and Paddy Power (who've cut him into 9/2 favourite).

As long as it doesn't happen. To get rid of Pearce and appoint Coleman just doesn't make any sense.

koeman ramp lasted less than 24 hours colemans ramp has been ongoing for 3-4 days there has to be more too it than just market manipulation

wouldnt go as far as saying coleman has a chance but there must be someone in either the coleman or tha man city camp talking about coleman taking the job

i am awaiting the ramp of rosler it has to come if no one gets the job in next week or so

he was a man city legend and had 2 reasonable seasons in charge of a norwegian team and is doing well in chare of another norwegian team

i dont think he is high profile but he will have supporters who still class him as a legend happy and he would jump at chance to manage a premiership team

dont think he will get the job but i think there is enough there to get the rampers intrested in getting his price into single figures

Uwe Rosler definitely a legend and would be welcomed by the fans as a past hero but would only believe he would come to us if the buy out doesn't happen. With the buy out and extra money I would expect someone to have a higher profile.

exactly why i expect a ramp on Uwe before long and why i am £1000+ green on him

do i think he will get the job

of course not

but if things delay in the take over then i expect 3 or 4 more managers prices to crash Uwe is just one of them

expect coleman to move into 3-1 with this news the current board is unlikely to be able to attract a decent forgien manager

not sure if i want this market to plod on too much longer i have £100+ on everyone so want my return but then the longer it goes on the more chance i have of laying off some of my big greens as the rampers move in

I think it is fair to say that we don't know what we are doing so take the money and run.

not much money either way for davies you can get a couple of quid on him at 27.0 but nothing sizable

has been as low as 6.8 and is looking good for a ramp

Ramping of one Sven G Eriksson over at Coral's...yesterday's Bettingzone Market Moves:

1600: Coral has slashed the odds on Sven-Goran Eriksson becoming boss of Manchester City to 3/1 favourite (from 10/1) after the former England boss was the subject of a sustained gamble today.

"Eriksson has indicated in the past that he would talk to City if they approached him, and the support we've seen for the Swede in the last 24 hours suggests a meeting between the two sides could be imminent," said Coral's David Stevens.

Next Man City manager: 3/1 (from 10/1) SG Eriksson, 7/2 C Coleman, 4/1 C Adriaanse, 5/1 G Houllier, 7/1 J Ramos, 10/1 M Hughes, P Jewell, R Koeman, 11/1 G Strachan, 12/1 B Davies, 16/1 G Souness, 28/1 R Gullit.

==========

Who the hell is Co Adriaanse? He seems a bit of a shirker and one to up sticks whenever he feels like it if his Wikipedia entry is anything to go by.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Co_Adriaanse

You have to laugh if you're a Man City fan.

Didier Deschamps the latest to get a bit of a boost. Yesterday's Bettingzone Market Moves:

1600: Sky Bet have slashed Didier Deschamps from 33/1 to 6/1 to succeed Stuart Pearce as Manchester City boss following a flurry of bets on the Frenchman yesterday.

Chris Coleman remains 9/2 favourite, with Sky Bet easing out Sven-Goran Eriksson from 5/2 to 5/1.

Sky Bet's Dale Tempest said: "This market has had more favourites than I can recall and it's still wide open. Every day produces a new rumour and a further move in the market."

Back to ramping Chris Coleman though. Today's Bettingzone Market Moves:

1245: Chris Coleman is being backed for the Manchester City job today - with Coral haviing slashed the former Fulham boss' price from 9/2 to 6/4.

Blue Square have also cut their price in half to evens, making him a firm favourite.

Coleman has been linked with the post over the past week, but no appointment appears to be imminent.
