Title: what do you think of this
Post by: ACE2M on June 13, 2007, 05:09:38 PM
playing a small buyin freezeout last week and this happened.

an older player raised my BB, i find KK. I put in a big overraise due to whats been going on at the table and he eventually calls like i want him to, an ace hits and i end up folding (he shows the ace).

similar hand occurs a few hands later after i re raise pre with JJ and have to fold on an KQx board, he shows me the Q.

another hand happens quite similar and i have to fold (can't remember exactly what happened in this one)

I'm now a bit frustrated with getting outflopped every hand when he calls with inferior hands.

I then find AA in mid pos and it's his BB. I raise and he calls, flop comes 998 and he check raises me all in. I'm a bit annoyed and say something like 'i really don't think i can believe you again'. I'm just about to drop my chips over the line when he flashes me his bottom card which is a nine, definately intentionally.

I now obviously pull back my chips and fold. He turns over 99 for flopped quads.

Why on earth did he flash me the card?
Would you ever feel like helping someone out of a pot if you had been destroying them with luck up to then?
I just couldn't ever imagine feeling that bad about it.

I'd take all your chips.

Then sympathise with the bad luck you're having.  Would never show cards (isn't that cheating?), and you play soft against someone it'll only come back and bite you.

Ace - were you crying? I think if you were he was showing you sympathy and giving you a break.
Whoever he is he would have got me on tilt by then! Lucky he flashed the card but strange that he did.

this is probably a relative of mine. many years ago whilst playing 5 card stud  i had quad ks and rather excitedly announced to all there was no point them betting any more as they couldnt win. (i was only 10 at the time)

I would of called for a rulling as he has exposed his hand, it is dead.

And claimed the pot ;)

lol

Agree with you there Yogi..not as i could doubt you being THE best poker room manager in the whole of the UK..xxx    recently came back from Vegas and the ruling there was it still stands exposed one or two, the hand is still good. I asked the card room manager and was told it is in the wsop rules ..how true that is i have no idea but that was his saying not mine.
