Title: Bung Inquiry
Post by: Rooky9 on June 15, 2007, 02:57:53 PM
Some much bigger name transfers than expected. Not looking too good for Newcastle, its probably no coincidence that the deals that have been questions were for the signing of players who have not been successful (with the half exception of emre). Seems XXXXXX may have been a bit too keen to get hold of Luque and Boumsong?!

(According to sky sports news)

Also, How much of an idiot is that Scottish presenter on SS News?!! He thinks he's some big time player in the sporting world, condescending idiot.

Yeah, Cech, Drogba and Essien were a surprise as they were all known to be genuinely good before Chelsea signed them.

Whereas we're all really surprised that such world-beaters as Luque, Boumsong, Collins Mbesuma and Blessing Kaku turned out to have been dodgy. Who'd have thought that Alladyce, Redknapp and Freddy Shepherd would have been involved in dodgy deals?

I just can't believe it myself.  Still in a state of shock.

The doubts regarding Newcastle are to do with inconsistencies in evidence provided by Souness and kenneth Shepherd, son of Freddy and not Freddy himself.

I personally believe that very few, if any managers/Chairmen have never "bent the rules" in the transfer market.

Rumour up here (then & coming out again now) is that the deal was done before he went to Rangers, who had Boumsong more on loan & saw very little of the £8.5m talked about at the time. TBH we'll never know.

Re Jim White (I presume it's him), he's a clown, not particularly respected up here either, best known for a cringing interview with Brian Laudrup which included the question "Brian, why are you so good?"

As luck would have it, today the BBC have a story saying that Yakubu has 'hinted' he wants to leave Middlesborough. And which manager is interested? Why, Harry Redknapp, of course.

And Geo, I know Freddy wasn't explicitly named in the report, but I very much doubt his son is going to be involved in dodginess at his father's club without some sort of implicit 'turning a blind eye', at the very least.

Fair call Andrew, I found this whilst trawling through some items on NUFC;

In his 2005 autobiography Sir Bobby Robson provides detailed criticism of Shepherd's chairmanship, claiming that while manager he was denied information regarding the players' contracts and transfer.

Sir Bobby is a man who holds everyone's respect.
