The way to beat loose players is to play tight.

the one who doesn't have to go crying to support to strike a deal.

The answer is 'the one who makes the most right decisions.' So you're making your decisions based on card theory and a theory about what kind of dude you're up against. All in big stack from tight player does not equal same cards as all in big stack from LAG.
Therreeeeeefor........if you've got your opponent convinced you're a LAG, you know this, and you switch back to TAG......he's gonna make a lot of wrong decisions.
Most decent players carry the radar heads up: I know I have AK on this A48 board, but he has check raised me for all all my chips, the radar goes off. Well, he has presented himself as LAG, but knows you think this, and you probably don't know he knows. Radar f***ed.
Best way to play, in my humble opinion.

Also, it helps if you can see the other guy's cards. Heads up especially, there are a lot of very robust timing tells, as well as tells from betting patterns. If he has more knowledge and insight of these over you, he'll probably win.
