Title: Omaha Hi Lo Post by: BigTomatoes on June 29, 2007, 01:18:29 AM Did I play this hand correctly ? , Should I call the raise preflop ? Should I set him all in on the flop with my weak draw ??
Im new to Omaha Hi Lo , I thought this was a pretty decent hand , but I think I might just have been a lucky fish on this hand. see for yourself. I think both players being quite short encouraged me to get my chips in and gamble with the 2nd nut low draw and up and down straight draw , I suspected Yam might have the A2 but what an incredible runner runner to give me the nut low and nut high straight rotflmfao did I play it ok ? or should i have folded preflop or on the flop ? any advice is welcome , even Flushys '' constructive criticism '' Title: Re: Omaha Hi Lo Post by: raab11 on June 29, 2007, 02:46:22 AM flushy will say im too tight but im not playing this hand Title: Re: Omaha Hi Lo Post by: Royal Flush on June 29, 2007, 05:11:24 AM flushy will say im too tight but im not playing this hand I fold it as well :D Title: Re: Omaha Hi Lo Post by: BigTomatoes on June 29, 2007, 05:33:10 AM ;gobsmacked; really ? Title: Re: Omaha Hi Lo Post by: Royal Flush on June 29, 2007, 11:49:36 AM ;gobsmacked; really ? I looked again at your position on the table, i might come in for a raise here but it mostly a steal, A3 with no real high potential is not much of a holding. Title: Re: Omaha Hi Lo Post by: BigTomatoes on June 29, 2007, 06:08:16 PM yeah it was only a 5$ donkament , i guess i liked the suited connectors , but i agree , the 7d 9d , really isnt worth getting excited about in O h/l , but I went on to win the tourney out of 42 players which aint bad for my 2nd try. thanks mainly to my KK catching a full house against AA2x with no low . lol donkaments Title: Re: Omaha Hi Lo Post by: tikay on June 29, 2007, 06:34:59 PM I think the starting hand is not really worth messing about with. It's extremely tough to steal in Hi-Lo, especially pre-flop, & in honesty, I'd not "chase" with your holding. Hi-Lo, & indeed High Only (Omaha), play very different in Cash & Tourneys. In Online "High" cash, I look to sit quietly & patiently, and am looking for a blockbuster hand & flop every hour or so, & that's all you need, because you are certain to get action. Tourneys, of course, are so different, as is "Live" cash, where everyone goes fishing every hand. Title: Re: Omaha Hi Lo Post by: BigTomatoes on June 29, 2007, 07:26:03 PM Omaha is a sick game altogether , i only play these tourneys as a bit of fun now and again. I was half way through the tourney before I realised I could win a big High hand with no low split ie. KK AQs flop A 10 K. I admit im an Omaha fish. ;fishing; Title: Re: Omaha Hi Lo Post by: Tragic on June 29, 2007, 08:48:02 PM You have a low draw crushed by any A2 a likely holding in this scenario, you have very close to sod all potential, you might get lucky split the lo and only get 3 quartered, bin ur tossy hand :P.
