Title: POKER. IT'S NOT FOR GIRLS...
Post by: snoopy1239 on October 14, 2005, 01:29:05 AM
... OR IS IT?

I've often wondered this myself, and I'd love to here if any1 could help me find an answer, but...

If there were as many female poker players as there are male, which sex would come out on top?

All the women poker players I know are either amazing or terrible. There is no middle ground.

Actually that's very similar to all the far eastern players I know.

And all the Asian players I know.

OK, I may be asking for it but here goes........

Mr Baron, you have played with me (in the poker sense) how was I?

Also, was I any good in the kitchen?

Was I better in the kitchen or at the poker table?

These any many other questions need to be answered

Ali

Before he gets into trouble, I will answer for him

You are great at both...a good hostess and a good poker player

especially when those in Yellow jumpers crack your Aces, you never tilted. Went deathly quiet yes, but you didn't tilt!!

Mr Baron sir, you are off the hook!

Ali, I have played with you (in the poker sense) and you were without doubt the most consistent player I saw over the whole day. Sheriff also had a great day! (and what a gent for the lift home I might add!)

The food you put on was 1st class and the Chinese you "cooked" (ordered) was fantastic too!

Seriously though if you cook like you play then watch out Jamie Oliver!

Yellow?  Don't you mean the brightest Lime Green?  ;D

I wasn't the only one that went deathly quiet - the whole house was like a morgue for about 5 minutes.

Ali NEVER tilts - composure at ALL times  8)

Actually you all scared me! Not one fish in sight.

About another month of bankroll nursing and I'll be there. :)

What's all this cac about boys trying to think about whether the girlies are better at poker or not?

Don't try and think lads, just riffle those chips and spout testosterone, and we'll happily sit there and out think you :

As per every other aspect of life (apart from map reading)

PS Happy friday :)

That joke brings back a wonderful memory form my teens. I was doing summer gang/factory work and there was this loud mouth on the mini bus. never shut up. racist, sexist, homophobic, rant rant rant he went. He was a real bully but no-one ever stood up to him.
he was sat between me and a rather butch  lesbian girl. Thai Boxer she was. Nice enough girl but scarey. This guy told that joke and in a heart beat she elbowed him across the bridge of the nose and broke it. She was one of the main reasons I got into it.
Ah happy days. I wish I still did that instead of this. ;)

great idea. would be an interesting experiment if it was a strict 50/50 split

HOLD ON!!!!!

I go away for a few days and when I get back the girls are being slagged off!!

Come on all you female blondites - lets stand up for ourselves and beat them at a boys Vs girls match - great idea.

My big poker disappointment is that there are hardly any women at final tables - I manage it when it's a one table sit and go  >:(  - but hardly ever in big (ie ranking) tournaments.

We never really seem to make it - except a great perfromance by Jen at the Luton festival. But I say - lets go for it - challenge them to a match, heads up or shoot out - I don't care as long as we win.   ;D

It will be a real test as it has to be fairly split 50/50, not one woman against a tourney of 50 guys as it normally is.

Great idea - I say YES - who else is in? Should we do a separate thread on this??
