Title: Does anyone remember Time Commanders?
Post by: Sark79 on June 29, 2007, 09:55:25 PM
I am trying to get hold of a realistic war strategy game for the PS2.  Something like time commanders.

I am a bit confused by the description of one of the experts on wikipedia.  Do you remember Dr Nusbacher being a bird?    I would have bet my life that he was a guy.   By the way he is the expert that looked a bit like postman pat.

According to wikipedia he is female.

This has to be an error,  I remember he had a beard once.

By the way Time Commanders was a military strategy tv show on about four years ago

Those types of strategy games are far more likely to turn up on a PC, not a console.

Do consoles run slower than PC's?   I am a bit clueless when it comes to games.

It's more to do with the types of people who buy games, and the control mechanism.

Certain types of games (first person shooters, strategy games, RTS games) simply are easier to play with a mouse and keyboard than a controller. Also, consoles have a less techy demographic, so therefore owners are more likely to want to play arcade style games, whereas the more geeky PC owner is more likely to want to play complex, deep games.

ok,  thanks.  I will probably pass then.  I like strategy games, but hate having to do all the installing , etc on the PC.

lol, booder seriously mate this was a proper guy with a beard  :D.  I remember he was a tall guy with glasses, so whoever made the wikipedia profile has never seen Time Commanders before and have got their people mixed up. No way was that a female, if it was she should fight on the WWE

Time commanders used an engine from an actual game. IT's called Rome: Total WAr, few years old now. There are several others in the series the latest being Medieval 2: Total War. They are PC games reasonably demanding. Good fun though!

Cool,  I didn't know you could actually buy the game,  I thought it was a BBC made game.

They haven't got their people mixed up.

Back then, he was Aryeh Nusbacher.

Now, she's Lynette Nusbacher.
