Title: Sky poker bad beat warning
Post by: Indestructable on July 02, 2007, 09:18:00 PM
Ed G is on the show tonight and started with mentioning that as he has had a bad poker week that he would be giving spot prizes to bad beats tonight. Well I tried my best and out in 596th place.

yeah ya did haha

I had similar but not as bad beats...

On the bubble in the 550... push with J 10 ... called by AQ

KJK flop... A river

10 seconds later

velocity 2 ... push UTG with AK... called by 88... flop AKx x turn 8 river

least I cashed in velocity

and a mate being 46/46 in velocity finished 6th for £96

It seems to be bad beat week for all on sky at the moment .... every hand I play is beaten by one up, hell even my 777JJ full house was beaten by JJJ77 in tonights velocity.

Grrrrrrrrr doesn't matter what I do at the moment, I've slow played, pushed all in, limp called .... the only hands I'm winning are the flippin ones I've folded  ;noflopshomer;

So, what to do ..... play tomorrow's open (because our main man is on and it's only a fiver lol) or keep of the site until Friday's Primo  :dontask:

May just have to tie someone up and beat my frustration out on them  ....... did I just say that out aloud???

May I be the first to volunteer Maam?

Tomorrow. You have been warned. Now, what did that blonde Profile say?

Built up a lovely stack to 16k, dealt ATs on the button, one small raise to 2k (blinds 500/1000), call, sb calls, bb folds.

Flop ATQ, BB bets 4k, original raiser calls, I push all in, everyone calls.  SB has AJ, other guy nothing, turn brings the jack and I'm out :(

I got in big trub with the Suits last night. We are allowed to give 3 Spot Prizes, but I somehow gave out 4. Better than my last Show I guess, when I gave 7....

I planned to do a little Poker Quiz last night, too, but with Orford blathering on so much, we ran out of time. I'll do it when I am next on.

Richard Orford is a top guy, must be said, I love doing the show with him. I told him that he "grates on me", & he said "oooh thanks, I'll add that to my CV".

Ed took telling his bad beat stories to a new level in the pub tonight.  He has screen shots of his bad beats on his IPOD, and was showing them to us one by one with an explanation of each hand, in much the same way one would share 'interesting' holiday snaps.  Fascinating stuff, and a wonderful use of modern technology.
