Title: Virgin (old Telewest) Internet Disc Post by: scotty2hatty on July 03, 2007, 09:40:46 AM Hi. Got a new computer but can't find my disc to install the internet onto it. Does anyone know of anywhere I can pick one of these up rather than having to wait an age on them sending one out? It would be so much easier if I could just plug my modem in and bob's your uncle.

You should be able to plug in any computer to your modem, and it will be able to connect to the internet. Have you tried plugging the new computer into it? If you have, I guess it didn't work. Have you tried switching off the modem and unplugging the cable, waiting a few minutes and then reconnecting it all and then booting up your computer. I'm no expert (you may have guessed), so it might be the case that you have to contact them in order to get your connection working (it should be a freephone number). It might be that telewest do it differently to ntl, and that Virgin are still using whatever was in place previously. Best of luck with it. I'm on Virgin (old telewest customer) and I recently replaced my PC. I had trouble getting my modem to connect to the web but eventually it worked when I did an IP release and renew from the command line.
