Title: sick spot
Post by: deepreacher on July 07, 2007, 07:59:14 PM
5/10 NL 6 handed....... i have fairly LAG image at this table

hero BB $4k
villain A UTG $1k - pretty LAG, opens with wide range, will shove draws etc -
villain B Button $1.4k, unknown random

UTG raises to $30, button calls, i call with 3s 3c in BB

Flop 7s 5s 3h

i check to A who bets $75, B flat calls, i pump it up to $275

A then shoves, B thinks then shoves his stack in..........   hero?  $2770 in pot i think.... about 1k more to me??

im not worried about A here im sure I have him beat...does B always have a 77 or 55 here or donk played overpair?

B could have aces/kings something like that. I would almost take him for a non nut flush draw if he was really thinking about it.

It's a draw heavy board and , of course, someone could already have the made straight (more likely to be player A) but I am probably not folding here unless I'm positive about one of them having atleast a set.

sorry you don't find this interesting - but what more can I say.  You have a set, it's a multiway pot, the intial raiser prob has a draw, the unknown player has a huge range.....

the unknown player probably does not have a huge range - after a bet, check raise then shove allin... he still manages to get chips in.

On non-us sites unknown players have huge ranges - it's a fact.  I would seriously consider folding on stars, but not on sites like i-poker, ladbrokes.  I hate it when these guys occasionally turn over the goods, but they do it a lot less often than they turn over 65o or some such.

I'm pretty certain villain has 77 here, but i don't see how you can fold.

i agree with this, but the pot has been 4 bet allin, even a retard knows to fold here surely without something decent?

Pot odds and set/set likelihood mean you cannot fold here.

ok, well obviously i didnt fold.... although i thought it was a vaguely tough decision with all the action.

PLayer A obviously had the flush draw, B had set 7's i turned quads so all good.

Im still not convinced the call is correct here even with the odds.

I'm pretty certain villain has 77 here, but i don't see how you can fold.

You can fold if you are 'pretty certain', if 'pretty certain' means you are going to be right at least 75% of the time (i.e. odds you are getting from the pot).
However, even given the strength of the move made by this guy, I'm not sure you can say he will have 77 (or 55, or 64) that often.

BTW, welcome to Blonde, Birts.

 ;welcome;
