I know it's a bit odd to ask for advice on food on a poker forum but i know there's a few Scottish members around who may be able to offer advice....

I'm in Aberdeen for a few days in a couple of weeks and am trying to find decent places to eat and drink. Price not really an issue if the food is good quality. Fish/ French / S-E Asian would be ideal. Any ideas? Thanks

there is meant to be a good sauage restraunt somewhere i havent found it yet

cant really comment on the quailty of the food there

but i hear the international casino has started suppling dealers for there comps

so i will be playing some poker again if you fancy a game

I was in Aberdeen last novemeber and can highly recommend Rustico's. I went back after the first time and got the same dish it was so good. The sauces were rich and the dishes filling. The ice cold Peronni was also lovely.

just asking as my sister keeps recomending silly resturants to me that dont have any real food on the menu just that stuff most sensible people use as garnish

i went to her house for dinner once and she made vegitarian meatballs

Aberdeen is my home town, and my dad lives for quality nosh, so I gave him a quick ding. (usually phone the folks on Sunday anyway, innit)

Seafood

Silver Darlings in undoubtably the best fish restraunt in Aberdeen.
Very popular and pricey, you'll need to book. The food is top notch.
1-2 miles from city centre

The Mariner on Great Western Road comes in second if you can't get into Silver Darlings or fancy something a little less pricey. More of a general restraunt, but they are famous for their fish.

French

Les Amis on Justice Mill Lane does decent French grub.
In city centre

SE Asia

Sai-Gon on Crown Terrace is the place for your Viatnamese cuisene. They do a quality buffet, and an a la carte menu too.
In city centre.

General

The Marcliffe at Pitfoddels is about 4-5 miles away. Very pricey, but very very good. Five star hotel jobby, you'll probably want to boook here too.

A closer and less pricey, but still quality general restraunt is the Olive Tree on Queens Road. Under a mile from the city centre.
Quite a small cozy place this one, so you might want to book here too.

Got to agree with all of that, Silver Darlings is a treat but as thetank said very pricey.

La Bambas on crown terrace is good, reasonably cheap tasty mexican food.

Where in Aberdeen are you from tank?

Seems a few there to get my teeth into. I don't think i'll venture into the casino as i've got to be up at 7am every morning.

Agree Rusticos is good.
Also Pavarotti's

Good indian is the Cinnamon Club and The Yangtze is the oldest Chinese in ABZ and is v good.

ps Burger King is at the back of the Bon Accord centre.

font forget the maccy d's driver thru on the way out of aberdeen both west and north

although the north one is better the west one is on the road home

couldnt tell you i get lost in aberdeen every time i go

i can find my way to the multi storey car park at the shopping centre (60% of time)
i can find my way to the comuninty centre i used to play basketball at (king street)
i can find both maccy d drive thrus (i never leave aberdeen without one)
i can find my way to the casino (i think)
and i can find my way to the home of gods

but i havent risked looking for anything else
