Title: I know they're a bunch of poofs, but playing a pop band ?
Post by: Karabiner on July 21, 2007, 08:45:33 PM
Apparantly the spuds played a pre-season friendly against the kaiser chiefs today.

Now if it had been Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark I'd have understood  :dontask:

The Levellers used to be very decent at footy.

 what is '' very decent '' ? i thought decent was kind of good , average , isn't '' very decent '' a contradiction in terms ?

You can say very decent in the same way as winning a big bet could be 'very satisfactory'.

'Very average' on the other hand, means something quite different.

"Is he a good poker player?"
"Well, he's very average."
