Title: deal question
Post by: Ironside on July 31, 2007, 05:32:28 AM
your in a comp with £2760 in the prize pool top 3 pay
there are 276000 chips in play
you only have 25k with the largest stack on around 130k the next smallest has 45k and the other player about 90k

blinds are now 2k/4k and due to rise soon how much would you look for in a deal?

Anything over 1 1/2 times your buy-in would be a bonus.

 Aspades

Grit your teeth...Grab your balls and start playing hard .
You will be surprised how quickly you can build your stack up with selective aggression at this point in a tournament...not that I would know of course being a rock, but others would.
In the long run it will do you more good than a deal...IMO

Wow! I think I agree.

(This advice does not apply to ladies only comps)

A pure % split for the remaining 4 players on their chip/£ % is as follows;

1. 130K = 46% = £1,270
2. 90K = 31% = £855
3. 45K = 15% = £415
4. 25K = 8% = £220

All in!?

Ask for a chop.

Explain that no doubt you'll all be in similar position in another comp, situations reversed, so although your gonna get the best of it this time,
it will even out over the long term.

If they laugh at you, and deride you, then play on, when you double up twice laugh at them.

or,

If you need the cash ask for a monkey and finish the comp there and then.

Yes - it's a little easier for a Sponsored player to dig his heels in. Non-sponsored players have to finance future Tourneys, & try & ensyure a pay-day from this one - it makes a HUGE difference. Those who are self-financing, & non-nipping, have to consider these deals very carefully. It's about survival. Grerat fun the challenge is, too.

How does a £20 rebuy generate a £2700 prize pool where only the top 3 pay? Where is this tournament!! Or who rebought 100 times?

My guess was pretty good then?

Sounds about right to me, you got more than your fair proportion, but you're the shortstack so have nothing to lose by shoving every hand.

Why would the guy with half the chips want to deal at this stage ?

Why would the guy with half the chips want to deal at this stage ?

it was his first live event and was allready on his 5th life

he got it all in with AT on an A34 flop via A3 and doubled up when he hit a flush draw
then got it in with 78 on a 667 flop via QQ and hit a 7

and if he doubled anone apart from me up then his postion wasnt so good
if he doubled me up then i have enough to damage him

the otehr 2 players were the more experianced players too so it was a case of if i was looking for a double up it would have had to come through the chip leader who was on my right

the international normally generates an average of 5 buy ins per person on a £20 night infact the £10 nights is about that too
last night had 27 runners with i think £2760 in the pot

2000 starting chips with 100/200 blinds for 90 mins

well worth a punt if your ever in aberdeen

several good players several how think they are good and a few fish like me swelling the pool
