Title: Here we go then APAT fans Post by: KingPoker on August 03, 2007, 09:10:18 PM Taken from www.apat.com
London, August 3rd, 2007 – The Amateur Poker Association & Tour (“APAT”), in conjunction with Blue Square, today announced details of the sixth live event in its critically acclaimed tour. APAT is the world’s first combined Poker Association and Tour, and will hold the European Amateur Poker Championship at the Grosvenor G Casino in Luton, over the bank holiday weekend, August 25th to 27th. The entry fee will be £75.00 and the winner will take home an expenses paid entry to the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour Grand Final, worth up to $8,000, in addition to the European Amateur title and a substantial cash prize. Players will not be required to pay a registration fee for the event and APAT standardised rules will be in operation at Grosvenor. Players will start the event with 10,000 in chips, and a structure designed to encourage creative play throughout. 300 seats are being made available and these will be allocated in the following way: • A seat option will be available for every $160 in the prize pool, via one online satellite at Blue Square, taking place on Monday August 6th at 8pm sharp. This event will feature a $20 + $2 entry fee. The Blue Square poker client can be downloaded via www.bluesq.com. The APAT satellite can be found under “Scheduled Tournaments / Satellites”. • The remaining seats will be allocated via a direct buy in at www.apat.com on Wednesday August 8th at around 7.00pm. The event will feature two day ones and players will have the opportunity to nominate on which opening day they would prefer to play. Day options will be granted on a first come first served basis as there will be a requirement to have an equal number of players on each day one. APAT members from several European countries have expressed their intention to travel to Luton, ensuring that this will be the largest and most international APAT tournament field to date. In season one, APAT features seven national and international events culminating in the World Amateur Poker Championship. Each APAT event winner receives a cash prize, an engraved Championship Cup and an expenses paid Grosvenor UK Poker Tour, European Poker Tour or World Series of Poker main event entry. Details of the APAT World Amateur Poker Championship will be announced later in August, where the winner will take a Blue Square sponsored expenses paid entry to the main event at the World Series of Poker. APAT Membership can be obtained online at www.apat.com. Sounds good Title: Re: Here we go then APAT fans Post by: The_nun on August 03, 2007, 09:14:31 PM How do you try and buy a seat ?

No falling out (I don't think), just a lot of new opportunities for APAT for next season I guess. Title: Re: Here we go then APAT fans Post by: DesD on August 03, 2007, 09:47:57 PM No falling out with PokerStars whatsoever. They have been a superb and willing sponsor of APAT in season one, but our core interest is live tournament play and partnering with Rank (Blue Square, Grosvenor and Mecca) will offer tremendous opportunities to APAT members.
Not sure if the link is allowed, but this thread explains all: http://www.apat.com/forum/index.php?topic=177.0 Richard is planning to put the three press releases that we have just made on all of the UK forums tomorrow morning. Title: Re: Here we go then APAT fans Post by: Jon MW on August 03, 2007, 11:18:26 PM I've just found out that you have to go through customer services to change your deposit option. So I've got the hassle of emailing them to change credit card details to Neteller details - just hope they manage it before I need to use the funds.
I did also mention that I was coming back to BlueSquare after stopping using it because of their new association with APAT - no harm in letting them know that their sponsorship money is working :) Title: Re: Here we go then APAT fans Post by: DesD on August 03, 2007, 11:21:41 PM I've just found out that you have to go through customer services to change your deposit option.
